Being tied up relies massively on trust, for most anyway. I've known someone who almost fainted from being tied up, was someone she knew well but never done anything sexual with. Had someone she's been sexual with but not known as long tie her up and she was completely comfortable. That may have been due to second time round or the ties were different, I don't know. But on the first time she said she just felt like she couldn't breathe, may be due to her not being in control of what was happening. Thankfully he recognised the signs and untied her.

As a starting point, get some bondage tape. Ann Summers or Lovehoney do it & it’s reasonably cheap. It’s also really easy to use & is a good way to try it first before you spend more on rope or restraints.

You could even start off with a tie or pair of tights / stockings

Play around with it til you find your comfort level - and have fun!

Find out first if she has any problems with circulation. Make sure she knows that once she's tied up if she feels any numbness to mention it immediately (have scissors handy to cut the ties if she does). Don't use string or rope that will get tighter if she struggles.

How does she want to be tied? What position?

Does she fancy rope, leather, silk?

) you'll get some good ideas, avoid injury and have a LOAD of fun

If you want to learn rope then there are a lot of tutorials online. It all depends on whether you have the patience to learn, the more you do it the easier it becomes.

But like the others said, I don't know places your way that offer events on it, only know them this way and further north.

It's a huge trust thing! I love it but will only allow Sir to do that . You put yourself in an extremely vulnerable situation. No trust no rope no cuffs no restraints if any kind. If you have that ultimate trust it is the most fulfilling and rewarding feeling ever

If you were more local I'd happily come and show you some basics, I love rope and have been tieing shibari style for a while. It's important to learn what not to do and which nerves to steer clear of.

There are a few basic ones that are a good place to start "single column tie (Somerville bowline is an easy one)" "basic chest harness"

There are many aspects to rope. You can have decritive, sadistic, weight bearing, predicament etc. Just cherry pick things you and partner like and have a set of shears at hand just incase things go a bit squiffy.

My suggestion is start with single columns then look up the futamono as that's a good easy one and renders the bunny pretty helpless. The butterfly is also pretty easy to pick up.

If you go on to fet websites you’ll get experts in Shibari. You’ll often get workshops or demos at kink nights as well.

I’m a rope bunny. I love being tied up. Some swinging clubs will have kink nights.
