telling lies never helps anyone in the long run

it may get you some short term gains, but if you want any 'future' then being upfront with people is the only option.

whether you contain the finer details in your profile, or whether you choose to tell them within a chat is your call - the main thing remains though, that honesty is always best

Some people like the honesty...some can then make an informed judgement on how they see you..

Me, I think honest is best...it will not stop people wanting to meet you see much better than lying...

But I am sure that lying work better for most...so it is a personnal choice...

Both will work...

The fact is that by declaring your attached status up front, you're asking someone to become a willing accomplice in deceiving your partner. No surprise the majority would say 'no thanks'. Is it better then to say nothing? No, but I suspect some won't ask and don't want to know. There are all kinds here

Hun,if you arent getting meets i would look at your profile...one long block of text, hard to read as it is,with typos and spelling mistakes making it harder.

As for honesty...if you cant be yourself here, where can you be?

and what have you done to change it?

I've been cheated on, and I've been the cheat, at the moment I'm neither, but it always amazes me the men that blame the women for issues in the bedroom but if you ask the woman, not only is she tired of looking after the kids, and cleaning the house, she feels sex is only available on the mans terms.

It takes two people to make a healthy relationship and healthy sex life, have you actually asked her what you can do to make it better, rather then assume she's the one that needs to change it?

Sorry can I just clarify. You are not dishonest if you cheat on someone, only if they ask you if you are cheating and you say no, that makes you dishonest?

My profile is my profile, I wrote it, and it sums up me.... You can't have it, so bugger off. Truly why are you worried? It's your profile... Everyone knows that the ladies are only looking at cock pics anyway, shhhhish like they would base there decision to meet you on words.....

Bollocks....

Having said that, saying that you are cheating on someone on your profile sucks, why! Because I bet 80% (numbers pulled out of the library of my arse) have been cheated on, and you know what, we don't like that feeling

Anyway, happy meets

Honesty rules, just as most of us are turned-off by the wrong personality, even if the physical attraction is there - dishonesty is generally quite ugly, if it's important stuff that's being distorted/deleted etc. This is not a reflection on anyone posting in this thread, merely my general thoughts.

If you've got a few pics and 1 doesn't do you justice, it's not dishonest to exclude it, it's merely good sense. Profiles are used as marketing really, so include what you'd like others to know about you, which will hopefully match the informational needs of those that you'd like to meet. People can, and do, ask for more info, etc, as they choose, just as you're at liberty to reveal yourself, or not, to whomever is asking.

Sometimes less is more, though with profiles it often seems that less is just leaving the profile writer short changing themselves (they lose out on meets), as well as others. Curiosity can be captivating, though too much minimalism can just be frustrating, in the wrong way.

I have been totally honest with my profile and it has led to loads of rejections on the grounds of age and status. On the age front, I believe the analogy that if you meet someone in a pub and are attracted to them you don't usually ask their age before chatting to them and on the attached front I thought it would be best to be honest and say that I am attached, however there are sooooo many who state they don't bother with married guys. I seriously am considering changing my profile and lying about both! Consider this people who say never, never, never to attached guys, if you are in a swingers club, do you ask a guy if he is married just as he is about to slip his cock right where it matters? I have had lots of sessions in clubs and not one person has asked about age or status until sometimes maybe later when the sexual side inevitably returns to chat and after the event it matters not anyway!

At a party I met a guy who was a similar age to me and he said that he had the same problem as me, sorted another profile and was busy as hell!!! I leave it to you, the jury, to decide........

Not all of us go to clubs, and from what I gather not many, if any, ask. I state on my profile "no married men" but I never ask, don't need to.

If a man's mobile is only on 9-5, he can only meet during office hours, never calls at weekends and can't accommodate, asks you not to wear perfume, you don't have to be Miss Marple to know he's attached.

Oh a few have tried to hoodwink me...bless em!

I am not in a position to comment really (not because my situation is the same, but because I dont know you or your partner.

You say something has gone wrong in the bedroom and that she has not done anything to change it. Have you? I don't mean tried to be adventurous in a half assed, spontaneous way, but actually sat and talked to ur mrs?

You never know where it might lead if you do (either break up, stalemate, or that she feels the same and wants to do something to spice things up).

All the replies saying liars will get their cumuppance are correct.

It's not all guys who do it either though...!

One way or another...and usually it is the 'other' anyone lying will inevitably be caught out. There are just a few simple things to do, ask, or see which will settle anyones mind.

The only porkies I give are 'very friendly ones'...

The thing to watch for is what they do not say on their profile, or tell you.

But, it's an occupational hazard in swinging. Be sensible.

and as for lying about attached status, they are usually spotted even when they think they've hidden it successfully! and if they get meets its from people who have sussed them out and are not bothered by it.

i turn people down for all kinds of reasons, sometimes something as fickle as they way they phrase their approach or how they spell (text speak - NOOOOOO!!!) and the pics they choose to represent themselves. on previous threads people have mentioned looking at the state of the room in the background of a pic...

so taking all this into account, it is not always what you say that determines whether you get meets but how you say it and the pic you illustrate with. but lying, along with one line profiles and only cock pics are frequently mentioned as a turn off so considering all the other hurdles you'll be a fool to lie when you might get a yes if you had told the truth but when you get caught out in a lie you get a no...

I love it when I see these types of thread in here. Never ceases to amaze me how many people take the moral high ground and start to preach their own version of morality and sexual conduct.

What these people who push their version of what is right and wrong onto others do not realise is that their own actions are hardly in line with conventional standards of moral conduct.

To attack the character of a person because they do not conform to your own personal ideas of what is right or wrong is nothing short of hypocritical myopia.

Before you have a go at someone because they are attached, married, gay, bi, too truthful, a liar or whatever you seem to have a problem with, take a long hard look at your own situation and question your own system of moral principles.

Can you with hand on heart really say you are superior in thought and deed to those you choose to deride and ridicule ? Beware of falling into the trap of having your own system of moral standards when those very standards are as perverse and questionable as those you choose to pillory.

I do have to agree with the sentiment expressed. We are not concerned about your morality or sexuality or identity, but if your photo is fake, was taken years ago, or you lie about your age etc to get a meet then, its bye bye blue...........

Yes, i can,you seem to have fallen into the trap of believing that just because some people have unconventional sex they leave their value system behind. This argument usually comes from those trying to claim that there sex life cannot be judged. This of course is rubbish, even the i never judge brigrade would have limits, beastiality for example would be outside of their value system. They would happily judge practioners of it.

Morality is of course subjective, what is acceptable in one time and place is unacceptable in another(slavery is an example of this).Any judgements we make are dependent on our own value system, and our values do not change according to the situation we are in.

i would argue that i am a swinger *because i believe in honesty and sexual openness, rather than because of any sexual behaviour i do or not indulge in.Because the ethical treatment of other humans is a core value for me,then i will continue to believe those cheating on spouses here are acting wrongly.

Now this does not mean i consider myself superior in every aspect of my life, but in the aspect shared here, which is sexual behaviour,i believe am.

*Although i rarely describe myself as a swinger as i dislike labels.
