I regularly read profile where they are no more than 2 or 3 paragraphs (and within my 3 yr old)

reading age) what I unsure about is, if I approached someone at a bar or party would I lay my life story out to them? Or would I just say hi, along with best ‘chat up line’. Surely people just need to see an approach, look at profile and pic and desire then if they want to know your favourite colour and inside leg measurement?

It’s difficult to articulate really. I rarely reply to just ‘hi’ and not often to ‘how are you?’ Purely because they often descend into very short Q&A sessions.

Someone who gets the balance between intrusive and chat I guess? So ‘how’s your week going,’ and a bit of information about themselves, maybe a comment about something that’s going on e.g. the Six Nations. But not ‘had many meets’ and so on.

In fairness, it’s something that will come naturally with the people you’re compatible with.

I reply to every message. Only takes a couple of messages to see where the conversation is going to go. Wouldn't meet everyone that messages but see no harm in a friendly reply x

Yes, but this is online and more information is required to give an indication of whether the person is worth meeting, in the absence of face-to-face communication, with all its verbal/body language cues
