its not often we arrange to meet single men as its not really our thing .... but once in a blue moon we give it a go (about 3 times in the past 2 years) so tonight, monday, we had spent over a week chatting and arranging to meet a single guy who lived 30 mins away, we said we would meet in the beer garden of a well known pub, after 30 mins late i emailed to see where he was, reply was i'm lost ?? be there shortly. another 30 mins, sitting outside & freezing we asked again, still very lost, dont know where i am.

at this point we left and decided he never intended turning up ..... why waste so much of our time??? why not be honest and say i dont want to meet???

why arrange with no intention of showing up.

this is why single men have a bad rep .... be honest ffs ... like i said ... not very often we meet single men, now it will be never again

I think idiots like that give single men a bad name which is a shame for the genuine ones as they all get labelled with the same tag.

Maybe he had an attack of last min nerves...still no excuse though, he should have been straight with you xx

Am a single (ish) male have been chatting to 2 couples on here for a couple of wks now and keep promising " yeah this wk is good"

Not heard from one in 3 days and the other is saying "we will let you know?"

When they split up he will be a??? before they got together he was a??? come on, if your man is decent, then why would it not make sense that a man is a man and all men are men so man it's all good

We've met some great single guys and had a brilliant time with them.

The one time we had a 'no show' for a social meet, we just thought 'oh well, never mind' and went on to enjoy each others company instead.

When we got home we reported the profile and applied the block.

To be honest I'm having a similar problem though I don't get as far as going to the place we arrange to meet because they seem to forget we are meeting!!! I have now come to the conclusion that when we have been chatting, they are horny and want a meet the same night and expect sex not coffee

hence they forget they were supposed to be on a meet, and then single guys have the cheek to moan that they are struggling to get meets. Think I will do my own post moaning and whinging about how us single women are struggling to get meets

does he get emails to his phone or do you mean texts? why not ring the lad and help him with directions ,if he pulled over and you could hear his engine might of showed he was on the way and gen lost,a cpl of weeks ago we aranged a late night meet was supposed to be 1230 the lad had a sat nav and still got lost ,he did turn up a hour later cany lad and couldnt say sorry enough ,hey we been lost on way to meets .benefit of doubt

It seems to us that no matter if people are single or in a couple, male or female ; Someone, somewhere on this site will have a moan about a timewaster or a no show. It goes with the territory. We have never had a no show. A guy called us at the last minute when we were waiting in the pub for him but he had good reason for not being able to make the meet.

These threads do get tedious after a while but people need to let off steam.

Well you never know! I got lost trying to come back to Cleethorpes from Louth after a meet their once!! ( So that means i am fairly local to Louth)

I had met a lovely couple, played (as you do

then driving home, in the pitch black i got so lost, ended up down bizzare lanes that scarred the shit out of me! And i had my sat nav on! Ooooo still makes me shudder that one!

My only advice to couples who want to meet single blokes, is that perhaps they arrange to meet them at one of the many social events held across the country.

(not floating my own boat here) I have never messaged anyone for a meet on this site, and I have been here for a long time

I have seen the single blokes come and go, and some who are genuine that have been branded by couples but have shining reviews from single fems.

Unfortunatly its all a bit hit and miss whatever your looking for here and time can only tell. If your willing to stick at it i'm sure you might just find what your looking for

And just because im loving this thread so much, and want to add my penny lol, i have only ever had one no show from a single guy on here!!

Must admit i was truely stunned, but more scared than anything because i had arranged to meet in a lane very late at night! (I know, silly girl taking risks).

On the whole, i have found the single men on here lovely guys. met more than I have verifications because I choose to keep some things to myself. Oh

We host parties and have been let down by both single guys and couples in equal messure.

I'm not one for pestering so that one out the window . You aint seen the ones I just found in the botom of the fridge!

I can't remember having any no shows, but we have stopped meeting single guys. Our problem was we only had one who was hard enough to actually penetrate and that went when we passed him the condom!

Now we have even less time, we tend to stick to clubs on a Saturday or private meets and parties.

But would never tar all of one group with the same brush. I also can't see what the frequency of meets has to do with whether or not someone has had luck! So, three in two years and no luck is still no luck! It may be their way of choosing that is the problem, but they are no shows none the less.

I have been pleasantly surprised reading through this thread at some, no most of the comments. I think as a few have pointed out, there will always be disappointnents in every walk of life, in every scenario.

If we all gave up on something so quickly, or were so fast to jump to massive conclusions without any real foundation of reason, then the would would be a very dull place. No-one would ever take a chance, nothing new would what happen...we might as well go sit in our front rooms and be dull and uninteresting... The spice of life is key and you know what, a disappointment here or there only makes the good times good, or the good meets bloody brilliant

I have met all the peeps i said i would bar one and let them know 4 days before the meet as i could not make due to work but did give early notice so dont think am a waste of time!!

had more time wasted from couples

we enjoy the singles now and then too, most we find are good but some just have to break the rules dont they,like asking for solo meets ,which isnt going to happen, so thats them binned ,one took hours to get here even tho he only lived five miles away , but most have been cool it only takes a cpl of idiots to ruin it ,oh and one no show, his loss i can assure you ,

We meet a fair few single guys and have never been let down by a single one. One had to call off as he had to go into work but as we saw that as a genuine reason we didn't deem it a let down.

We once met a guy off another site a d it was his first time meeting. He admitted he almost didn't turn up and he was that nervous it was an awful meet. We understand that not all meets will be great and put it down to experience. What it has driven us to do is only meet guys who have previously been verified. These guys know what they're doing and it takes away all the nerves and awkwardness, bit rough on the guys just starting out but we make a personal choice as is our prerogative.

So in summary there are some great guys on here and it would be a sorrier place without them.

In the last 2 weeks I've had 3 ladies and 2 couples as no shows,even tho I have drove to the place were we meeting and they have even txted they on there way,yet 2 hrs later I'm still sat there,so it's not just single guys who let ppl down ,yet everyone jumps on the single guys are wasters bandwagon,theres good and bad with guys,ladies and couples on here

It's not just single guys that can be no show's and end up wasting your time. Several years ago I had a MF couple do something similar to what the OP has said. Except that when I kept texting to ask where they were I was told the female half was still getting ready and putting her make-up on. I waited for over an hour before coming to the conclusion they weren't turning up.

Well we only meet single guys and have only had one ring an hour before the meet to say his daughter had turned up unexpectedly but he came the next week and we all enjoyed a great evening together. We have had some great fun and are looking forward to much more from the lovely guys on fab.

I was thinking the same thing.

I find it funny though, it's always the single men who do a no show that get mentioned most of the time, where there are loads of couples that do no shows to.

It seems though through my own experience that the couples bitch and moan like hell when a single male does a no show a hell of a lot more than a single man would do when a couple does a no show on himself.

Only ever cancelled once and for that I gave two days notice. Couldn't drive with a broken foot. Have had three promised meets with couples where they didn't show though and all without warning or apology.

But thats folk aint it? Move on!

Sorry to hear about your no show.

I read soooo many times about single guys not showing up..come on guys if you arrange a meet.....TURN UP.......and if there is GENUINE reason ( i.e not MY DOG HAS ESCAPED. THE CAR HAS BROKEN DONE ) have spoke to a couple that were given those excuses.

If you cannot make it. let people know in advance.

It's the time wasting single guys like that, that make it so difficult for single guys like me to meet anyone.

Couples I have had some genuinely great times with a few couples as well as single ladies from here and other sites - So no real complaints about either - However an observation or two re couples.

a) have experienced chatting on line to couples swapping pics arranging meets and only male of couple turns up!

b) have arranged meets with couples having chatted on line for both to turn up and female know nothing about the reason they are in an out of the way pub!

c) have arranged meets with couples and chatted on the phone to both, only for the female to get cold feet and pull out but not let me know!

4) have arranged meets with couples only for female to say I am only here coz he wants to do this/demands I do this - Thats normally When I make polite apologies and leave

E) My all time favorite is the couples who swap dozens of messages ask all the questions under the earth, tell you their fantasy, tell you that you are exactly what they are looking for, then the next day have deleted all the messages and blocked you or hidden their profile. And single guys are only on here to get off on messaging and pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess there are single guys who make a bad name for us, as well as couples who make a bad name for them. I also guess that when you have driven 50 miles or more, arranged meets only for people not to arrive that threads like this pop up as it is only natural to let off steam.

We've not had the pleasure of being blocked yet but we have been ignored after sending messages to couples who were all up for the idea on our friends list just to be ignored. So far at least we haven't had many single guys string us along.

We have met some great single males,its not easy picking one just by reading profiles,sometimes you meet a great guy and everything pans out like you hoped it would sometimes it doesnt.

There are some on this site that mess you around but thats not limited to single males at all its just as prevelant with couples aswell.

One bad experience shouldnt put you off trying what you want.

To to OP, perhaps you can take something positive away from this that will stand you in good stead for all of your future meets in terms of your selection policy.

When you were messaging the guy and speaking to him on the phone for example did he come across as confident, experienced, fun and positive? Was he able to lead or steer the conversation in interesting ways, or did you have to do all the work ? In short did he demonstrate any skill and subtlety in the wrt of seduction?

Did you check out his verifications? Did you check out who had verified the people who had verified him? Did you spot anyone you knew or at least knew of?

Was he completely open about showing face pics? Did he have more than one?

You can add your own criteria to this but the bottom line is that, while you can never eliminate those who are less than genuine from the site, a bit of simple leg work can reduce your chances of a no-show to almost nil.

While I've had my share of conversations with supposed swingers who have been less than genuine in their stated desire to meet, I've only ever had one no-show in 3 years - and that was a spur if the moment meet when I ignored my selection criteria, so I only had myself to blame.

And remember - a cancellation isn't the same as a no-show - if you've followed a good selection process, a cancellation, while disappointing, is often merely a postponement

I would say from my point that I am totally genuine and have had a couple of meets and always turn up if I say I am going to.

However, I do send alot of emails to single females asking if they want to chat and get no reply, not even a no thanks! I have even tried with a few couples and get no reply even when I have sent face pics!

I guess there are just lots of timewasters about who have no intention of meeting, what a shame as they dont know what they are missing lol

I am not going to get into name calling etc.

I arrange to meet and turn up. I don't meet often because most of my meets are bloody miles away (Im in Liverpool she's in wales as an example) but I always turn up or know well in advance if I can't and let someone know.

I'd say that you have been unlucky in this case and that, as has been said before, if he was emailing he wasn't coming. If you were lost wouldn't you call to ask directions?

Next time, check out verifications. Ignore web and phone veri's, go for blokes with meet veris. That way they have turned up to be verified. Simples.

Doesn't mean they'll turn up again though! Both times I was stood up were by men who were meet verified. Best thing to do if chat lots beforehand. Nothing is 100% but IMO people are less likely to flake when a rapport has been made.

well as many may say veris mean nothing etc, I do my research on my meets unless I'm feeling spontaneous.I look at other profiles check out the frequency of meets, who they have met(if its been verified), I know that there are singles,cpls who have been verified from meets but sometimes the lack of, can make me wonder how 'into' swinging they are in MY opinion.

My aim i to normally want to meet some I've met again, introduce them to others I have met and possibly likewise.

Some people are asking for a few veris on a prospective meets profile and in some cases it makes sense.

*and again I will point my personal opinion wich is..I want to know a litle bit about the person(s), so a veri like, "she sucks for BLANK"- gives me fuck all info on if she is fun...which I would say most of my meets have been....even before we start shagging

We have met some great single guys off here and another site. Plus a few that haven't been so great....but that's life.

In general we have been very lucky but then we do choose who we meet very carefully. Have only ever had one no show off a single guy and that was one who we had met already (and he did text to say he couldn't make it)
