"Perhaps skinny or lithe is the best word, I wouldn't want to use the word obese when perhaps curvy or ample would do" Just like to say OP that not all curvy ladies are obese A slim women can still be curvy... My friend is as you describe “mature & skinny” I’m pretty sure she would prefer the term slim or slender tho.

He said almost anorexic... that’s not slender, that’s thin to the point of looking ill" Yeah. I said his description was misjudged because I think from a later post that he admires very slim women rather than anorexic ones. A lot of people use the word anorexic when they mean very slim. Our daughter was naturally extremely slim in her teens and early twenties and people used to ask her if she was anorexic not understanding that she was nowhere close to that.

" anyone with a BMI greater than 30 is obese I believe, but we should not get overly concerned about terminology, some people who are in the 1.in 4.carry a few extra pounds very well

OP you're not alone in your preference for slender forms" Excuse me slender and desperately ill the same Threads go arrray when OPs don’t make their intentions clear ... or maybe they do. Either way fetishising anorexia is right up there with the worst arseholes.

The OP spoke about a hideous illness. Do you understand that? You came in at the 11th hour as if nothing wrong had been written at all. It’s an illness

"I find skinny ladies really sexy, especially mature skinny ladies. Almost anorexic to be honest. Anyone else share my tastes?" Anorexia is an illness, not a size! People with anorexia do tend to be very underweight (bmi 17.5) as the condition is obviously characterised by their unwillingness to eat. However, this does not happen overnight, therefore people can be anorexic and still be a healthy weight. Conversely, people can be underweight for a large number of reasons, only one of which is anorexia.

"Imagine if that was about the other extreme of weight ladies?! You wouldn’t write “especially Borderline type2 diabetic with a cholesterol of 9 and an annual dose of cellulitis” would you. Christ. " This is the point exactly!! I had a school friend who died from anorexia. She suffered for years & they don’t want to be considered ‘sexy’. And nor should that be encouraged. It’s heartbreaking to see someone who was beautiful & loved & healthy go from being on the hockey team & playing tennis, fancying boys, singing in the choir & having a real zest for life to becoming a teenager who looked like a child, yellowing skin, hair falling out, constantly exhausted, lost interest in everything, and falling to just 4 stone when she died due to complete organ failure. Glamourising anorexia encourages kids to develop eating disorders. Many catwalk models have bulemia. By all means, adore women who are naturally slender - they are as beautiful as anyone else - but please understand that what might be a throwaway term to you is a devastating mental & physical illness in reality Saying you like the anorexic look is like saying you like the ‘post-chemo’ look!!

"I like very slim women, or very curvy women. Mainly I like women who are funny and have a decent size personality... OPs wording was wrong, give him a break! " Unfortunately it wouldn’t be the first time someone starts a controversial post then back tracks once they realise it’s an unpopular view - and I’m only talking about the anorexia word before anyone continues to misquote me There’s a sad few that think a swinging site is entirely tolerant to anything from the unusual (eg. Hard sports which most dislike), to the immoral like this, to the illegal.

Anorexia was entirely the wrong word for a whole multitude of reasons.

As somebody has mentioned; “anorexia” refers to an illness not a physical body shape.

"Slender is the word you were looking for op No, slender is within normal limits. The word he is looking for is cachexic." I have to say I’m slightly perturbed judging by this thread that many of you think we shouldn’t treat the OP as accurate. A dilemma for the forums that one

"As predicted, The PC brigade has struck, here snowflakes have a tissue for your issues. Most of the normal emotionally stable people knew exactly what he meant. " I think you'll find most people who have commented knew what the op 'meant', which is exactly why they've questioned and corrected his wording. It's about educating people; about mental health in general, about eating disorders, about how the wrong choice of words can unwittingly be detrimental to others.

So you find it's your job to correct and educate people in forums for a turn of phrase, although understanding the question didn't answer it, you'd rather screach about their diction. We don't come on here to be educated about eating disorders or mental health by the torch and pitchfork mob, and we don't see how the comment could be detrimental to a reader Fucking hell there are so many snowflakes on here we need a plough
