Equality maybe?

Plus some events are aimed at women who want a lot of men..they usually reduce entry fee for men at those, but it's never free..

For the sake of even handedness I'd suggest if you do one, you should do the other...event dependant

I assume fees also help to deter timewasters or unwanted guests

Otherwise they may feel like unpaid prostitutes.

I see lots mention that there is a cost to attending house parties, yet we have been to loads (probably 20 plus) and never been asked to pay anything, and nor has anyone else attending. Is this common?

I've been to two house parties and no one was charged. But not something I'd be interested in again.

As for exempting females paying at clubs, I'd rather pay the same price as men than pay nothing at all. One club once asked me if I thought upping the price for fems was too much, my response was no for this club I'd be willing to pay 7 times that amount.

Many women wouldn't want to be seen as bait to get others to pay. It could be a modern way of running a brothel.

We have house parties occasionally. We don’t charge. I mean we are essentially inviting our friends to our house, that’s all. Our only expense is drinks and nibbles, so if inviting a large number we ask for a contribution to the table, which most people would do anyway. We end up with a better stocked drinks cupboard than we started as people are usually generous when you open up your home to others. Likewise when we are invited to a house party we’ll always bring a couple of bottles of wine. We’ve only ever paid when we’ve been to large scale parties.

I agree with this. I think making men pay up to 80% more than women is completely unfair.

If I was hosting a fab party in my own home I wouldn't charge anyone. But my home is far away from everyone and not suitable at all for these parties, so we usually rent a flat. And yeah, I do ask everyone to chip in a few pounds to cover the costs. No difference between males, females and couples though, everybody pays the same (usually around £5-£10pp) x

No females should still pay something, I would expect to pay at a club. If men paid and women were free it would increase some men's feeling of entitlement to a fuck xx

The problem will always be the same, what price gives you a suitable balance of men, women, couples.

Not everybody wants just couples, just unicorns or just men.

It has to be economical for the clubs, so pricing low swamps them with guys and the close quickly as no couples and single women come back.

Price too high and you just get noone there.

Given that the entry cost usually isn’t the only aspect of the cost of going to a club it is really hard to get right. We often drive up to 4 hours to clubs, stay in hotels and buy outfits - so a club visit costs easily £100+,

so regulating entry costs is not the right answer if you actually want clubs to exist and people to actually go.

No I don't think so. Women play on it (not all) however I think a more equal footing is required esp if an organised event. Hosts control guest list so have it an even number as much as possible.

I think the cost for some single men is absolutely ridiculous

You're right. I don't wanna pay no more. I also think we should get free lingerie, makeovers and hair stylists so we always look our best. Oh and shoes. Hooker shoes.

PS: Whilst I like other females a lot, the main attraction for me currently when frequenting parties and clubs are men. Just so you know.

Absolutely it’s time to stop them paying.

I can think of no better way to celebrate the March of feminism and 100 years of the vote.

Perhaps you think they shouldn’t be allowed their own money

I've never felt an entitlement to a fuck, after paying the premium to be a 'select single guy' in one of these places, but I would like to have been treated as more of an equal by those who have either looked down on me, or deliberately ignored me

Some places charge minimal amounts for single women, such as £10.

Couples about £30

Single males £50/60
