if it is clear they've not read your profile then just wink them back THEN block them !

Especially if they have email notifications set up that'll confuse them

You are so right.....a wink shows that the sender has interest alright....in themselves! They need to expend no effort or creativity in messaging someone to create a favorable impression. They simply expect all the work to be done by the recipient to save them the trouble. That is why we find them rude and arrogant.

Getting winks doesn't bother us at all....we just forget to check them that often. So do prefer people to email us if interested.

Now random friends invites from those we have never chatted with, they bug us!

ok reasons for winking on my part -

you take the time and think about the person the profile etc etc type a well worded and well thought out message , you attach any relevant pictures etc etc and then its straight into the delete box , so for me saves time and effort , its my way of saying im interested . if i get one ill look read the profile and send a message if its sometone im interested in .

I'm looking forward to getting a shag out of this thread at some point.

last time someone whinged about winks in the forums, I winked one of the posters, she winked back, messages ensued, followed by a rather spectacular meet.

so if there are any tall, slim yet curvy redheaded brewery heiresses reading this thread and wondering whether to post or not, dont bother - just skip to sending me a message.

but don't forget to attach a pic .......... of the brewery

Absolutely right!

This topic comes up soooooo many times, but I can never understand why some people see it as 'rude' and 'arrogant'???? It's there to expresss interest and to make first contact. If you like what you se then you can wink back and illicit a proper message or response?

Surely it's more rude and arrogant to expect everyone who's interested in you to write the equivalent of War and Peace only to have their messages ignored, or worst still deleted?

The most irritating thing about all of this is it usually comes from people who complain about getting too many messages, and not having time to respond to them all.

Dumb!

exactly what impact is there from receiving a wink from someone, in what way does it cause upset or grief.

someone has read your profile and likes it and sends a virtual thumbs up.. a compliment.

they don't send a message asking to meet? because maybe, they have read the profile and realise they don't meet your preferences.

now I appreciate some may receive the wink and then link that to possible meet, check out the senders profile and be disappointed. I kinda get the 100 of messages a day issue and having to look thro the nonsense ones to find a possible golden nugget.

But 'winks'......

people who get wound up over every little thing on here are often needy, desperate for meets and may have their priorities all wrong.

So someone winks at you in the street and by your reaction comments I bet you give them a right mouthful or at the very least a smack in the mush!

Do you not remember the occasions of catching someone's eye and giving them a wink?

Of course you're entitled to your op but really...

If the site thinks there a good idea maybe you should pull your neck in a little and just _iew it as a compliment. A little like a whistle or do you not like those either

Love some of the replies in this thread, "do not wink at me, my pussy is made of gold and you have to EARN the right to stroke it by writing a soliloquy, with ten reasons why I would deign to talk to you"

It's a swingers site, the whole point of which is for people to make contact, if you don't want contact its best to hide your profile.

We actually prefer winks to messages, if your attracted you wink back leading to a message.

With a message, if your not attracted it means sending a "thanks but no thanks" message, which is often awkward.

We wonder how the folk who complain about these little things would feel if they got no contact at all!
