"I am fairly new here and have had various reactions/opinions on my profile. Most have been very welcome and nicely phrased. Some have been extremely critical of the reasons why I am on here, thats fine and I accept that, and then one or two downright outrageously rude and abusive. Those last one or two have been blocked but what I am curious about is why do people seem to think it is alright to be rude and abusive to someone they have never met and never will do. That to me is just odd. One lovely welcome example is someone messaged to welcome me onto the site, gave me massive encouragement and wished me well. I shan't quote anything as I know it's not permitted. That one message in particular made my day. I haven't managed to meet anyone yet but hopefully will do soon. " Without specific detail, how were they 'rude and abusive'? Presume they weren't random communications and were replies to communication you had sent them.

" No one has the right to read your profile and then message you to 'chew you out' for the reason you are on here. Have you found the 'report and block' button? I suggest you do report the keyboard heroes and do the whole site a favour.

I now know that 99.95% of people here are nice genuine folks, long may it continue to be so. 100% would be nice but hey the vast majority rule?????
