Well, this is what surprises me - there are lots of examples on various porn sites which involve guys with good sized cocks doing this..

Myself; I had to exchange the first one I bought for a larger one (in order to fit my cock through - I am quite girthy, but not huge), and now, it would seem that very few girls can actually fit their bite around it...

Strange as the girls in porn videos can obviously accomplish this...I myself can just open my mouth wide enough to get my bite over it...perhaps I need one with a slightly narrower ring size??

Yes, but other than helping to hold the gag firmly in place, I don't see how a spider gag solves the problem...the ring still needs to be of a certain size and it won't fit in a girl's mouth any differently??

A spider gag sits slightly further back in the mouth so same size ring but as it doesn't sit directly behind the teeth it's easier to accommodate.

Or use a Jennings gag, but go for one with a double ratchet as it's easier on the jaw then a single sided ratchet.
