It always strikes me as odd.

Why on earth would you ask random internet people how to converse with YOUR girlfriend?

Your wording in your original post most definitely indicated you were talking about a current girlfriend.

Your post made it sound like you already have a girlfriend but I see it could also mean a future girlfriend.

People have said they start talking about fantasies and take it from there.

There's a handy website too where you each (you can do it separately in private) tick all the sex fantasies that you have, then the website only shows the fantasies that you share. So she'd never know you like wearing wellies while being covered in baked beans... for example.
