The thing is to be able to quantify the risk, which the link I posted actually does. Crossing the road is as much Russian roulette it's just the probabilities are well known. There are lots of risks in life. you just have to be concerned about the ones that eventually kills you - now there's the trick.

Where are these stats from? According to the Terrace Higgins Trust there were 5164 HIV cases in 2016, that’s 14 per day, not 100? They also state that there has been a steady decline since its peak in 2005.

I wouldn’t do it as a one off, however I am able to read a post or thread about it without experiencing internal rage. Presumably a thread about crossing the road would be received with similar statistics of injury or death. Expressing moral outrage is not necessarily an attractive trait...
