Men who don’t read ladies profiles before messaging them

I am not surprised that men outnumber women so heavily on here.

Despite doing everything short of blocking single men I make it quite clear I am not looking for men.

Yet still I get messages most days I am online.

I like the club scene so use the site to research club events and keep in touch with people I have met in clubs ( hence I don’t want to block all single men- after a good session I cannot always recall usernames ) . Being polite I reply but then usually regret bothering as the attitude of so many of these men just winds me up From now on I will just treat these messages in the same way I deal with those annoying cold calls from PPI claim companies etc .

Oh but their penis picture might be the one to win you over.

Or it's worth a try cause you might have changed your mind.

Seriously. If you're a guy and reading this. If a woman says they aren't looking for men, strangely enough that's what they mean.

It's not always as clear as you think. Mixed messages.

That's why I don't message the ones not looking for men...

This makes me happy.

And you win a gold star for being able to read and being a decent human being

I always read profiles..... even the long winded ones..... yes there are a few and some quite arrogant

I read them so i know who not to message...... because the last thing i want is to upset anybody

Exactly- the nice guys respect us ladies

Hence my logic that by definition they are not worth bothering with.

I am perfectly capable of using the search function for myself

Perhaps block single men and ask any that you meet in a club to send you a wink.

That might be the flaw in my cunning plan. Let me check our winks.

Could always pack a small pad and pen as part of your club kit and write down the username of anyone you meet there so you can initiate contact at a later date

Ha ha for a while...till I discovered Sea Cadets but I thought suggesting they flag their username using semaphore might be a bit much

I have a similar thing with my age preference. I won’t meet above it but don’t want to block as don’t mind having conversations with older guys.

I can’t decide who frustrate me the most though. Those who haven’t read it or those that have but chose to ignore it

Glad to hear that it's not only me who has this problem...!

I don't want to block men, simply because I want to see which ones keep ogling my profile (it's lots!)

Despite having "No Men" written all over my Profile - they still keep messaging me - usually quite crudely - often starting with the words "I've just read your profile" ... and then saying how much I'd enjoy them doing x,y or z to me...

I keep telling myself that not all men are dumb - but I wish that I didn't have to...

If you use your message filters correctly you don't have to block single guys, you can just block single guys from messaging you.

That way they will show up on local news feed and on "who looked at me"

Door banging: bang on enough doors and someone will answer.

You have to remember men are usually sending lots of messages with little success because of all the competition. So when sending a message you try to be unique and read the profile but it's not always gonna happen. Plus no matter how charming or charismatic you are in real life, You may be unsuccessful on here because you're not playing 'the game' right.

I wouldn't get offended though ladies. I would much rather have the issue of having 100s of messages from people who have shown interest rather than 100s of rejections.

Can't see that option?

That doesn't work for me (via iMac & Firefox) - how are you accessing the site?

I am on iPhone and Mac and message filters come up as an option- I am currently blocking single men- course that doesn’t stop men from messaging me from a couple profile!

Any one else suspect some of the single female profiles are really men ????

If you go into account and click on "looking for" just click on single men.

Then go to message filters (still in your account) and block single males from messaging you.

Sorry I was incorrect, they dont show on "who looked at me" only on local feed.

Bit of mixed info. Apologies.

It's the nature of the beast I'm afraid Izzy, you just need to be smarter than them as unfortunately Fab will never be able to irradicate it.
