Hi, how are you? has got to be the most boring and common opener on Fab, lazy and generic, does this annoy anyone else, or is it just me ?!

I really don't mind the one liners, feel sorry for alot of people that get put down on here for that, it's just a way of saying they are interested, I don't want a life story in the first message lol

It's w catch 22 thing.. it's either hey there, hi how are you, fancy a fuck etc can't win with any of them and most people are not going to write a paragraph to be ignored or deleted, it's just an ice breaker.

Yeah, that’s why I use winks, but a lot of women are a bit sniffy about them. I’ve written well thought out messages that have got deleted without being read, haha.

just you if you get annoyed at that many things will annoy you but I suggest you're saying that because many women and couples list it as a negative

Same!

No matter what people send as a first message, most get deleted without reply. I wouldn't bother writing much either. If the person replies, then I'd write more.

I prefer it to someone giving them life story in first message like some do. Its just an opener after all, what happens after is the key!

I normally just delete. If they can't be bothered to put a decent message together I dnt hold out much hope of an exciting meet

when do you go upto some one on the street and give them a five minute speech lol x

conversation the art of exchanging words between two or more people

Good point- how difficult is it to reply to "hi" with something interesting? - Clearly too difficult for some people!
