I love gym fit girls, but actually, when it comes to getting properly passionate I think I am more into women who still have their natural curves and softness...it just kind of feels more 'right'...

I really do find women who respect their bodies very attractive. That is more than possible to do and remain "womanly shaped".

I totally agree! It is not only the 'shape', but also the 'softness'...its all about how a woman feels when you are properly 'entwined'...flesh to flesh...I find the look of very gym fit girls hugely erotic, but somehow, I'm not sure nature intends women's bodies to be quite so lean and hard...that's how a man's body should feel to them..imo

You're right. Somewhere around a size 12 is perfect imo.

Hmm, not sure I fall under gym physique as I don't have abs.

I'll put myself in as strongman/powerlifter type bod.

I'm a regular gym goer, 4/5 times a week on average.

I like my food too much to have a "gym bod" though

couple, us we him her.

We are gym regulars.

But age is not on our side, outside of the gym we don't look like we are.

I (Mr) don't have that rock hard look that I used to have naturally.

But I haven't been able to train properly for about two years now due to a shoulder injury I have surgery soon.

But have been unable to train upper body at all.

These days we train to try and stay healthy and happy.

Mrs does enjoy checking out the guy's tho, and I do admit that my eyes wondering on occasions.

ti0 for the calves (worked for me) everytime u go gym finish with a light weight and 100 plus reps on calves in sets of 20 or more. Watch them grow! Along with a proper calve work.out once a week at least

In the world of strongman I'm pretty weak though, even at an amateur level.

Guys at 105kg or over 40s competing with 360kg + deadlift, 300kg + squat, 160kg + over head press.

Take me another 4+ years to get to that level if I last that long.

I bowed at of that game a few years ago. Injuries mount up and the time to train suddenly became a massive hindrance. Would love to get another competition under my belt but I'll never get back to where I was.

I go to the gym 3 times a week, my workouts generally consist of an hour cardio, half an hour weights, 20/30 lengths of the pool and an hour in the spa to reward myself. I'm very fit but I don't have what most would consider a 'gym fit body'. I'm very curvy with an ample bum and biggish boobs....my body is just how I like it, and that's the most important thing to me.

Really? I usually am! I don’t need the guys I meet to have sculpted abs (though they look nice) - they just have to not be thin or large - and to be physically fit enough to shag for hours without dying!

Oh - and they have to have an attractive face and a great personality too - but not a 6-pack!

Oh - and they have to have an attractive face and a great personality too - but not a 6-pack! "

I always assume gym fit to mean "Calvin Klein model" if I see "Rugby type" I think more along my lines as most people wouldn't know powerlifter or strongman as a category. I have big shoulders, back etc but I'd still consider myself just a hench fat bloke, but I don't mind it, being big gets plenty of attention and Mrs never has to tell single guys no twice when I'm there but the guys with the abs (I'm talking bodybuilders not skinny guys) have done a lot more to earn the gym fit title than I have my training is a couple of hours a few times a week those guys are full time 24/7

I really dislike the gym and exercise in general. But when I move back home I'm going to become a member at the local gym. It has climbing walls, pools, dance classes, etc. and it's only $10 a month. I'm actually looking forward to it

"Hmm, not sure I fall under gym physique as I don't have abs.

I'll put myself in as strongman/powerlifter type bod.

What numbers are you lifting

280 deadlift

265 squat

130 over head press

185 bench is this for reps or one rep max?

I wish it was reps

They're all max lifts.

400lb bench is pretty hefty.

Yeah, I think this year will be my last. I enjoy it massively but I've got to be realistic about what I can achieve.

I don't train body parts I train the lift plus some assistance work. So deadlift day, squat day, press day and strongman event day.

I will be honest and I'm not being a bell end but I really don't believe you. Those are huge weights and even power lifters at that level show some muscle.

The people I know who shift that weight don't just look like normal people. They are obvious lifters. I'm sure others will agree . But this is just my opinion

Because my pictures don't show bulging muscles you're using that as evidence to suggest I'm lying?

There's not many non lifters I know that walk around with 29" thighs and a 48" chest with a 35" waist. Anyone who's met me off here will attest to the fact it's quite obvious I lift.

You can believe what you like but I can assure you those numbers are the truth.

How big do you expect him to be? I'm not that far off those numbers at 160 5x5 squat (haven't 1rm recently) 160 bench 220 dead and I'd say he's bigger than I am, he has the legs for it and you can see from profile pic he has the lower back width to do the dead and the squat there are no chest or shoulder pics but I doubt he's lying.

I was 17 stone amd 10 percent fat on tren test and Decca I could do 150 bench and 225 deadlift 1rp max . Those numbers just seem a bit blown up for appeal as no one is ever going to disprove it.

So his numbers aren't miles above yours the difference is the body fat and probably training focus, my gym is mainly a bodybuilding gym and the guys who look big and ripped in a vest never hit anywhere near your numbers me and my brother probably lift more than most of them but then the short fat bloke (or at least he looks like a fat bloke) comes in and benches 240kg on his own the difference between bodybuilders and lifting for weight is massive.

You really can't judge a book by it's cover the first time I met him 2years ago he jumped in between our sets at about 100kg and I offered him a spot only for him to bang out 20reps as a warm up and then do 5,3,1 at 200, 220, 240 I felt a right cunt

"I love all these people who can bench 150 kg plus but what they fail to tell you is they got someone spotting them and they get 2 out at best. What's the point? No stamina what so ever.

The point is to lift as much as you can if you powerlift, no stamina required so your point is not relevant in that sense."

No probs mate each to their own. But personally I prefer going a bit lighter and getting more reps and super setting, used to lift really heavy but age and joints can't take it anymore. Good luck to you.

"I (Incubus) used to have a home gym in my house, but my job is hugely physically demanding now and one of the best workouts I can have.

Succubus runs marathons and trains for them regularly so she's in awesome shape, which I am very very appreciative of....

A home gym in your house eh......"

It couldn't have been anywhere else really, I guess...

I suppose everyone would call bullshit if I told you a guy I train with now and again who competes at under 90kg can deadlift 340kg, squat 325kg, log press 160kg and bench 220kg. Lb for lb he's one of the strongest guys in the world but you wouldn't exactly think it to look at him. Won England, Europe's and world's strongest man under 90kg last year.

Looks can be immensely deceiving in the world of strongman. Big huge guys who are as weak as a kitten and little guys who blow you out the water.

So it's pointless because you can't do it? The guy who 1 reps double what you do could out rep you easy as the weight is a lower percentage of his 1rm so where does the lack of stamina part come from?

Glad I simply go, lift what I can and feel better after I go. No need for all this peacock shit.

The point is..bodybuilding is about physique...strongman is about power...but still if ppl claim to be able to lift certain amounts of weight you should still see muscle...Most powerlifters have big forearms, shoulders traps..yet some on here (not just this thread) claim to be able to lift this and that when in reality they look like they only lift the sky tv remote off sofa while eating kebabs

I often see guys more concerned about the weight they lift doing the peacocking in the gym. Often the weights are just to heavy so form and technique are loss. It really is a man thing

Are you jealous of their strength? I think it's unlikely that they'll be jealous of your stamina.

There's a lot of reasons to do heavy low rep work. I used to do loads for rugby training.

Not at all as I said each to their own for whatever reason. But I would rather do circuits and stuff. That's all.

And the person doing low rep heavy benching might think circuits are pointless but that's the great thing about the gym, it has something for everyone.

I think this thread has illustrated what people don't like about guys who lift. It's not their fault. But it can be an issue.

I'm guessing this is aimed at me and again your basing your judgement off a few public pics. If I was going to lie I wouldn't have picked such medicore weights.

Blimey.

Strongman is a sport in its own right - it's way more functional than bodybuilding, which is at best, a beauty contest.

There's no such thing as "stamina" until your muscles have used all the glycogen, which takes about 20 seconds...

So basically, you mean "cardio". I'm sure if you want to show off you can post your time for the 100m sprint or whatever...

Maybe because we lift heavy weights then go home and sit on the sofa eating kebabs haha

I don’t look like I lift, I’m just a fat guy but makes it that much better when I start repping people’s Max’s
