I've used the coil for nearly 15 years, best invention ever

Only ever had one guy who said he could feel the "wires" but he was rather large

I was at a club once with a friend and her buddie manages to pull it loose while trying to make her squirt, altho he was being extremely rough!

What sort of problems do you mean tho?

I have to have mine changed every 5 years. Had it done week before last. You get some bleeding to start with, but sexually your fine and it starts working as a birth control straight away.

However, i personally wait a week after to have sex so thats it has time to setle in

oh and a couple of guys have felt it and thats all, nothing to do with them having a big cock but because of what position i was in. If you like deep sex they might feel it.

Best thing ever! Had it fitted 4 months ago, uncomfortable and spotting for 6 weeks (was beginning to think it was a bad idea...) but then everything was fine and i have had only one period (which lasted 3 days) in the last 3 months!!

Before that my periods were horrendous and lasted 10 days every month.

I had one fitted about 3 years ago & not had a problem. Painful for about 5 seconds (I literally couldn't speak) when it as put in but that's it.

My periods are heavier but instead of lasting the 7 days they used to, they only last about 4! Bonus! Some say they have really bad cramps with a coil, but I don't....not enough for painkillers.

Tod has mentioned having tiny little cuts (not enough to bleed. I've scratched his back deeper) on his cock a couple of times after sex, but considering we have had sex almost everyday for those 3 years & only 2-3 times he's noticed a few cuts, it's nothing to write home about....but it's worth being aware if you're using condoms.

Depending on which coil you have fitted (I wasn't told of the differences until AFTER I had mine fitted which really annoyed me) your periods will either stop or continue.

I do know that the only thing you can't use with a coil are moon cups. I've not heard or read any other sanitary products being a problem.

He could, but only after a bit of exploration

i have a friend whose ex complained about the wires, but he was a tuwnt!

And dont apologize about the topic...i think men worth their salt have no problems accepting we are flesh and blood.

I had one fitted in September last year, I managed to put up with it until January before I had it removed. It gave me pain daily and I hated that it was in there. I guess it doesn't work for everyone. I think it's either brilliant or a nightmare. I can't say I had any issues with the sexual side of things although I was aware of it but I suspect that was in my head! The pain was constant and although bearable, it was wearing so I ditched it.

Same as DirtyGirl.

My G/f at the time got one fitted, been on the pill too long etc.

She thought long & hard about it, we talked about it & I went with her when she got it fitted.

She had it taken out a few weeks later, just couldn't get on with it and suffered constant bleeding.

I think it's just one of those things, works for some people but not for others. You just don't know until you try it, but from everything I've heard, if it works for you they're great.

I regular see a lady that uses a special coil from the States (I can't remember for what reason, which makes me sound shallow). Anyway, I a little above average (I guess) as a fella, and it has never impeded anything we do.

Having said that, she isnt the toe of lady that likes a sekonda losing fisting, she does enjoy a firm frig (if I blush whilst typing this stuff, does it mean I am not cut out for swinging?). So far we really have had no problems, but I guess I am aware of the situation so I read a bit about coils and modified my behaviour somewhat (not an awful lot but a somewhat).

I guess if you tell you potential partner the situation there really shouldn't be any problem.

Ok so i responded in a girly thread.... Shoot me

Apparently (according to a lot of the sites I read when I was looking up on them) mooncups can cause a slight suction & can dislodge a coil so it's advised not to use them....but if you've used them & not had any trouble....

I had a Mirena coil fitted a year ago and its brilliant.

When first fitted I had bleeding for about 10 days constantly, while my body adjusted to the hormones and since then I haven't had a period. Great for swinging, no time outs for periods etc.

I have never felt anything whilst having sex or being touched. The coil sits within the womb and two strings are left inside the vagina. I've never been bothered by these strings and they tend to sit high up inside the vagina.

The regular coil may cause periods to be slightly heavier but the Mirena coil is used to treat heavy periods, symptoms of menopause as well as contraception.

There is no point listening to others' horror stories of contraception as our bodies are all different and react to artificial hormones differently. So just because others have had problems, its unlikely you will have exactly the same experience. Trust try out and see what suits.

I have had one fitted a few times.. I find that they get dislodged too easily during play... Would not have one again due to pain and the constant period style pains..

On my second Merina coil... Best thing I ever did... If the wires are too low/ in way you can always get them trimmed! And it is more about your torso position rather the cock size which affects whether himself gets spiked! I'd say go for it

Used to have the depo injection every 11 weeks which worked fine for me and stopped periods. Had to come off it as I have high blood pressure so now have the coil and after the first month I stopped having periods altogether. Ideal for swinging

What does getting spiked mean. Men cant get injured by the coil - it sits inside the womb, men cant get their cocks inside the womb.

They can get cuts from the wires.... Mine always got dislodged.. and the pain was unbearable... You can feel it sat there too.. or at least I could...

I had a copper 7 IUD fitted in 1984 - fell pregnant in 1985. Can't say I'd recommend that one.

Had a go at the Mirena coil in 1996 and found it great. The female doc fitted it in less than 20 seconds, discomfort was minimal and my periods all but stopped after it had all settled down (which took a couple of months).

The 'refit' in 2000 wasn't the best though - the prattish doctor (different surgery)took half an hour poking around; I ended up vomiting with the pain. He'd only just been trained in fitting them so if I were you, I'd either have it done at a family planning clinic where they do them all the time or ask your doc how 'practised' he/she is at insertion because it can make a world of difference.

I found the last insertion so traumatic I didn't bother with another when it was removed. NO way was I going to risk going through the second experience again!

Generally I'd recommend it though - just do your research before you get it done or you might just be letting some rank amateur shove a foreign object into your uterus.

I've had the copper coil and Mirena. The copper one was a disaster. Bled so much I couldn't leave the house for days.

The Mirena is great though. The hormones in it dramatically cut your "down" time each month and in many cases stop in completely.

Fisting has been fine as has the vigorous g spot play that I need to squirt.

In over 10 years only had one guy that said he could feel it but he liked to make a drama about everything

The strings that are attached to the coil are not wires, they are similar to tampon strings. They are not sharp, they've been designed to sit in the vagina so they are not going to be. There is absolutely no way a guy can actually be injured from the coil, he cannot get his cock into the uterus, so I must admit I do find it strange that some guys are saying that it can hurt them or they have been hurt by the strings.

But I don't have a cock so I can't say for sure. My OH has never felt it whilst having sex
