User Has Left the Site

Over the last few months, we have noticed a huge increase in circumstances where a user messages us, but in the time it takes us to login and read the message (more often than not, just a few hours), the user has left the site...

It has become almost commonplace.

Is there any reason do you think that would be happening? Anyone else seen the same thing? I’m sure its just coincidence, but I wondered if there might be an underlying reason.

Can't say it happens often but has happened a few times over the years.

I don't worry about it. Sure they'll be back again?

You can block newbies from messaging you. There must be thousands who join for a perve and then leave.

That would explain it.

Maybe more people hearing about the site, joining and ditching it quickly. Thanks all.

Scotland - Aberdeen

I get this a few times a week, I often wonder if it is someone I have blocked and due to no response they give up and delete the fake account, just a thought

We keep getting the same one, seems to come back, message then go again. Same 'copy and paste' message, same public face pic attached. Every week for at least a month or so I reckon now.

In a sleepy little village

I get the odd one but I have all newbies blocked. I often play a game with myself betting on how long after they join you see " this site is rubbish" on their status and how long it takes before they leave

Doesn't "...has left site" also mean that they've blocked you?

Happens to me quite a lot, I assume it to mean that I've not replied quickly enough for them, and been blocked.

No. User has left site means they deleted

Blocked says “ you cant view this profile blah blah blah”

Seen it on the forum as well. One person said yesterday, "We'll stick it out" but today, they're no longer on the site.

One of two things -

1 - Fakes.

2 - Many think it's dial-a-sex. Just because people are on the site, they think they can just message, arrange a shag and sorted. When reality and frustration kicks in, they disappear.

Yes, occasionally I experience that. Easiest thing in the world to press "delete" and move onto the next message. I don't think about their reason for either contacting me or withdrawing - it's only used up a second or two of my life.

It's probably because they are not getting the instant results they were expecting ..like instant replies and instant meets
