We've had this a bit recently...

Guys sends a message, looks good, we reply, start chatting, arrange a meet for a few days hence, then he goes silent.

Presumably in such circumstances getting interest is enough for their self esteem.

Funny you say that lately I had few couples who have messaged me first then I replied and since then I never heard back. They have Veris to say they are genuine. This site baffles me at times

Maybe one half messaged without the other being there and the other half didn't fancy a meet when they viewed you profile ? Who knows, odd site this is at times.

That's possibly a bit different. You might send a message and the tone of the reply might then put you off.

We are talking about situations where you have been chatting for a bit...

I laugh whenever someone gave 'nerves' as an excuse to be a timewaster.

As one post above rightly mentioned, they were horny fantasist and use the contact to relieve themselves.

They probably get greater sexual gratification from the messages, or building up your hopes only to dash them later, thanmight from the actual encounter.

We think that's what's happened when we've found ourselves in the same situation.

It happened a few times to me as well. This one time I arranged a meet with a couple then they canceled last minute. But I was cool with it, then half hour later msgs me asking to meet now and I didnt see the msg till least half HR later cause I thought I wasn't meeting anyone. But when I replied I got no reply lol so she was obviously pissed and since then haven't heard from them. I don't think it was my fault though.

I just think there are a lot of people on Fab with no intention of meeting. That’s fine, I have no problem with that, but they shouldn’t be messing other people around.

Best way to avoid the fantasists and dreamers is look for profiles who are well verified by 'meet in person'. Still not fool proof but increases the odds of the person being genuine.

We let our guard down and decided to meet a single guy for a change. We met up for a drink, all got on and decided on a meet a couple of weeks later. All sorted, date and time agreed and spoke to him the evening before to check all was good. 10 mins before he was due we texted our address and tada - no show. Eventually replied to say he was elsewhere in the country and no apology. Blocked.

A month later another guy contacted us who seemed ok and we thought we'd give it one more try cos the single guys always swear they're genuine/ not timewasters etc. Drink was good and arranged to meet to play and yep - disappeared on the day.

Luckily the day wasn't wasted as we contacted a local couple on the same day, met up and have great fun with them.

So, single guys are once again blocked.

I know what you mean OP I’ve chatted to guys after a while given them my Kik (which I no longer have for this reason) asked them if they’d like to meet them they either ghost at this point or agree a date then poof a disappearing act houdini would be proud of! Peculiar

Happened to Frankie and myself- from about 4 different guys in the last 6 months. 2 of them have done it twice to us now.

(We're the fools for inviting them both the second time around). Never any apologies either. Pleased about this report for not showing up option now though, we will definitely be using in future.
