Okay, honestly, deep down I think I know the answer to this one, but I admit that I want some validation from others.

Is there ever a valid excuse for someone refusing to send a picture after some ongoing communication?

I mean, pretty much everyone has phones with cameras now, even those tablet things can take photos, right?

So is it justified to think that anyone who refuses to send a couple of pictures, or who makes excuses not to do so, is probably hiding something?

A good question, really.

Personally, I don't like ending pics for a variety of reasons. Right now, I'm just here to chat and make some friends, so I don't really see the point in it? I mean, if someone won't even chat to me based on how I look, it makes them more than a bit shallow?

The other side of this is that I don't like my pictures. They either make me look really good (no, not being bigheaded here--I don't think they look much like me) or really bad. I prefer to meet in person where you can see what I really look like.

I am not hiding anything at all--I am exactly what it says on the tin, and have found quite a few who accept that, so I'm not complaining at all.

What gets me most is those who claim to have read my profile then insist on a picture in the first message--stating it's all about attraction (which means they haven't read my profile after all).

I suppose some/many are hiding something when refusing to send a picture, but not all!

Probably depends entirely on the reason for sending the pics and what type you expect. We would never send pics just for the sake of it as we have plenty on our profile if folk want to browse.

I think it depends on why you are asking them to send you pics and why they say they wont/cant send any.

I never send face pics to anyone and rarely send body pics unless we have already met them. Im not hiding anything except my identity. We are happy to meet socially so we dont send pics. Its never been a problem for us.

I can give an example of a woman in a couple profile who isn't allowed to show pics because she got friendly with a guy a while back and sent him very naughty pics turns out he sat next to her hubby at work and he was showing hubby the pics which didn't please him

I only send a face pic if I think I'm going to meet you. Otherwise I wouldn't.

So other than reasons given above, I'd say the general reason to not sending a face pic, is the person isn't who they say they are. Or they have no intention of meeting you?

I don't think it necessarily means they have something to hide. We talk to quite a few people whose face we haven't seen, but we're never going to meet them.

We won't meet anybody if we haven't had a face picture.

We never send face pics out until we know a meet is definitely arranged..We got a message from a couple and the first thing they wanted before anything was chatted about was face pics..I replied nicely back to them telling them we never send face pics out until we have been chatting for a while and it kooks like a meet might be on the cards..yes I know there as to be an attraction there.. They instantly blocked us with not even a chat about a meet or what they are in to.The reason we do not instantly send face pics out is for privacy ..You never know who you are talking to and what they would do with the picture..we would not want any face pics linked back to us and the swinging sites we are on in case family members seeing us, including our grown up son's who undoubtedly look at porn and sites on the internet

Totally agree with that comment. I chat to lots of people on here that are too far away to seriously consider meeting and I have no idea what they look like. I'm always wary of girls and couples that send face pics in their first message.

Its up to someone to choose not to send a pic,also up to us not to engage further with them.

I know it still goes on that people won't exchange a pic,why they won't is another matter.

We all value our privacy and if its needed so much,maybe fab isnt the right place for them.

Go with your gut op,they could have had a bad experience in the past ,more likely they are lying about something, be that sex,age etc.

I am meeting someone for a social next week and we haven't exchanged any pics at all. As it is a social it doesn't matter what he looks like as I have enjoyed chatting with him on line.

If they refuse to never ever send photos but expect you to; I would be very wary.

If they have lots of verifications; it might be a twice shy situation.

I would ask for maybe a photo with no face or something else "it's me"

If someone doesn’t want to send you a picture then it’s their decision! No one has to give you a valid excuse why they won’t! After having some less than average creeps on here giving me grief I don’t and won’t send my picture. If they don’t like it tough!

It is very much their decision, but chances for a meet are pretty much non existent I think. By far most people will want to exchange mug shots before considering meeting up x

Me too. Won't send a face pic on here but will send one on kik after a while. If they don't like then that's fine. Won't lose any sleep over not meeting.

We socialise with loads of people we don't fancy....nothing wrong with that.

In your case I wouldn't as you have non to even make an idea of what you look like.

We don't send pics out as we not here to private meet. We used to on previous profiles

We have pics in friend section for people we have met so they know anyway
