Used one at a company I visit. They save waiting 30 seconds for the kettle to boil I suppose, but however they got approved as safe is beyond me. They look like a normal tap, but dispense boiling water, what could possibly go wrong?

The hot and cold works like a normal tap but to activate the boiling water you have to give the collar a double pump and twist, so it acts like a child lock.

That sounds safer, the one I've used, you just press a little lever!

Oh blimey! No, anything like Quooker and Zip etc. are engineered to make them as safe as possible. So far I’ve not heard any horror stories about people injuring themselves but I guess there’s always that one person who would perform a d*unken jig next to their dishwasher with all of their sharp knives stood up in the basket. So I suppose there’s always a small risk but then that’s probably equal to someone sticking their head over the spout of a kettle as it boils.

Haha true. My only experience of one comes from a works kitchen, were it isn't obvious what it is....

Yup, exactly how you do it,

Nothing like an experienced hand to make things work the way they were meant too...
