Yes a few times and not just on here also had it for dating.

One I particularly remember is going to my local costa to meet a 20 year old woman and I ended up just with a pot of tea and cake instead of getting to know her.

Least you had tea and cake. It’s horrible when I go to the effort of dressing (like my pics) to be sat waiting for some guy that hasn’t the courtesy to let us know he’s bottked it.

We had a 'no show' very recently. It was just for a drink and chat not a play meet. He simply didn't turn up, no messege beforehand to say he wasn't coming. He messeged many hours later giving an excuse however i don't understand why he didn't have a couple of minutes to send me a messege cancelling, i wouldn't be so miffed then.

Once, invited to a party, turned up to the address at the time given. Nobody answered the door.

That was a couple with lots of Veris.

Couple of times, had ladies arrange meets and then disappear. But as I was host, I just sat at home, so not so bad.

"Yes loads of times. Social only now first as it's a waste of time getting ready to meet and getting stood up ! "

*Loads of times* damn!

I don't get why people can't say changed mind etc even if it was a day before meet. That is better then simply just not turning up.

Maybe they get a kick out of it... or were fake/timewasters. Having said that I have heard even people who are well verified and you think would never be a no show do the exact same thing:

Spend time/messages on arranging meets, but then don't say anything if not going ahead with it!

I wonder if any of the no shows out there get stood up and know that *feeling* ...

What if:

On a meet nobody turned up and didn't say anything. All no shows! That must have happened a few times in Fab history. I guess we will never know

We've had it happen a few times two of them were off the cuff daytime meets at ours where we got inundated with offers only to pick the time wasters both times! It was slightly annoying as we rarely get spare time during the day so would of been nice if they had the balls to say they wasn't coming.

The other was a guy the wife had been chatting to for weeks and we decided to drive the 20 odd miles to great Yarmouth to meet socially in a cafe and the guy never turned up or even responded to any messages! He replied the next day saying he was there and we were in the wrong place which was utter bollocks as we walked up and down the road and that was the only cafe on that road!

I really don't get why people think it's acceptable to waste people's time

Yes this has happened to me during my early days.

Back then it wasn't the norm to Skype but use chat rooms and yahoo groups.

I'd met couples for dogging and cinema play no issues so a woman saying she wanted to meet up was the normal.

Sadly it turned out to be a fake meet and I had a hotel room on my own..

The impact of fake meets meant I started to ask for phone validation and or Skype calls which I understand some couples don't like.

So I probably missed a few meets because of it.

It’s very frustrating when you chat to guy for a while, arrange a meet say at a pub and spend time doing yourself up nice.

You turn up and the guy doesn’t and not even a message from him or he blocks you.

Never mind

Yes, twice and both in hotels.

The first they just didn't turn up, the next day they asked if we could try again, no apologies or anything, blocked.

The second, despite C and his other half chatting on and off for a week they decided at the last minute that someone was closer and nicer and left us sat in our hotel room.

We know this as they verified each other the next day.

We wouldn't do that to anyone so why do some think it's OK to treat people like that?.

I arranged to meet a guy in a bar and turned up only to find he wasn't there. I waited twenty minutes and then received s message saying..."just to say I saw you in your pink blouse..very fetching". He obviously was there but didn't reveal himself. Luckily I travelled less than 5 minutes. Of course he was blocked as a timewaster. We had exchanged pics but his pic must not have resembled himself! A bit creepy but you just draw a line under it.

We had a guy who didn’t turn up after we’d booked a hotel room.

He told us one hour before we were due to meet. Eventually he later told us a girl had told him she was pregnant so he couldn’t get away.

Not sure if that girl may have been his wife. He couldn’t accommodate though due to having a flat mate so might have accidentally got his flat mate pregnant. Perhaps through sharing a toilet seat ??

For socials, too many to mention

Play meets, a few when we started out. A lot more cautious these days.

One of the most memorable ones was us waiting in a hotel we had paid for for the arranged time to elapse by over an hour to be told a relative had died. Then the next morning reading a verification that our meet went to a club with a couple instead!

After it has happened a few times I think that you become a little more carefull. I will not meet unless we have spoken on the phone first and I always phone just before leaving to check that it is still on. Text messages or emails can be anyone so I would never go to a meet without a phone conversation first. To date it has worked for me .

That's why I find the best way is to only arrange to meet at a place and time convenient to me, usually somewhere I was going to be anyway.

That way, you don't need a plan B, the meet is the plan B.

Drove a few miles to meet a girl, twice, and both times she didn't show up. Can't remember the reason for the first, second time she said she hadn't woken up in time(it was a 9 in the morn meet). In 2012,i drove about 50 miles to meet a girl at her place. Met her, chatted for 20 mins, then it turned out she wanted a lift to a friend's house about 15 miles back the way I was headed home, so nothing doing there. She said we would have a proper meet at sometime later, nothing came of it, surprise surprise. Have been to Glasgow a few times and arranged meets and while there, they have been cancelled. 4 times by one girl. 3 or 4 others have said they were on for meeting, then while I was there, they don't respond to messages. There's been a few who have agreed to meets then leave the site without a word, and a couple of others who have also agreed, then blocked me, for whatever reason known only to them.
