seen a few profiles recently stating theyre not looking for players which is fine by me as its each to their own, but.....what does the word player mean when used by other players...sorry i mean swingers?

The term "player” has been a bit diluted over the last few years and can mean a few things...

It generally refers to men but is not gender specific.

It can mean people ‘playing’ at being into the swinging scene… such as the type who says “I wouldn’t be here if I was in a relationship and no way would I ever let any wife of mine do this” whilst advertising to meet couples.

It can mean people who are here to bed as many as they can between vanilla relationships…. a stop gap if you like.

It can mean those who will say whatever to get a hump, but have no long-term interest in the swinging scene or lifestyle.

It can mean people who play at being open minded, but actually think swinging is cheap and seedy…. but hey it’s an easy place to get a shag for the time being.

That sort of thing.

I always thought a "player" was a person or couple who were into swinging as a way of life almost. Into everything and anything, meeting two or three time week in week out. That sort of thing.

so basically none of us have got a f#~#~=;g clue. i actually thought it referred to guys who have got a few birds on the go at the same time but tries to keep em all sweet.ive always called them stuffy bastards but methinks player sounds less envious.

That's a strange one, since I would say all swingers are players...

I think someone has their dating profile mixed up with playing one.

Players on a dating site, suggests they don't want to meet a person who likes to have multiple dates on the go.

If it's on a single fems profile I'd avoid it like the plague. I used a hook up site before landing up here and it was full of women looking for a deep and meaningful.

There must be a few of us that would potentially be open to that with the right person but a hook up or swinging site isn't the place to actively seek it.

well for me a player is someone that niether wants nor needs emotional attachment nor willing to commit to a single relationship but pretend to to get hteir own way, when i met my husband i was told by everyone he was a player, he was with out doubt the biggest flirt i ever met, we got togeter but before we had sex he told me he had abosolotly no interest in a relation ship he was open i though well i'll change that lol took a long time and i did lol so no longer a player, but is a player someone open and honest like that cos he says he wasnt he just wanted sex without frills ie relationship, or is a plaryer the guy or girl that tells every one they are the one and move on without a word, i feel it's the later "playing people" if i see dont want a player on a profile i would stay well clear, just my thoughts i'm sure others will see it different x
