Friends and Hotlist Clearout

Jump to newest

Its that time of the year to have a friend's and Hotlist clear out.

I have over 20 friends & 20 or so profiles in my Hotlist; all of which none ever reply to any messages, so what is the point if having them.

If they haven't got time for me, there's no point in having them on either list of mine, irrespective if we have met or messaged before in the past.

Anybody else feel this way?

Definitely re the hotlist if they're not replying to any messages but surely the friends reply for them to have accepted you in the first place ?

If not then bin them

I try to communicate with my friends list, but we all have lives to live.

No need to clear any of them out though as it is a special person to get on it in the first place.

I know people are busy, its not like im sitting on mt backside all day either. It just feels like im the one making the effort without any sort of reward.

Time to stop kidding myself and just delete people

I do this periodically with real life people. If a "friend" never initiates contact I stop contacting them. On the internet it's not as significant to me.

The people on our hot list don't know for sure they're on it so we wouldn't expect them to contact us.

If you are on our friends list and don’t reply after a couple of messages, we just block and move on x

I had a clear out of my friends list a few weeks back. Don't have that many on my hotlist anyway. It's quite therapeutic to have a clear out

I use my hotlist to keep an eye on trouble makers etc and not for guys we would like to meet so thats left as it is.

On my friends list if im always the one to initiate contact/messeges then i delete them after a while. They arent real friends anyway. Actually i dont have friends in real life either. Im not sociable or friendly except with family.

Croydon Area

Our friends list is reserved for those that we consider swinging friends and have met with/want to meet.

If however after a period of time of no replies to our messages we remove them.

Removing all our friends only photos seems to have massively reduced lurkers and attracts the ones more generally interested in getting to know us.

we do it all the time. No reply to a message and we assume they're no longer interested and move on. Hotlist changes constantly depending on what event we have planned.

What I don't understand is people who feel the need to announce they're doing it...it feels attention seeking and unneccessary...what do they want? people to beg to stay on it? we'll often spare them the trouble snd delete them instead...

I keep my friends list to people I’ve met and may or will meet again.

My hotlist is people who organise parties or socials so I can keep up with what’s going on.

The majority only ask to be on your friends list so that they can see your friends only pics

For hotlist people I guess it depends on why they are in your hotlist. For me, they are mix of people for whom we don't converse enough or have a chance to meet to make it worth being friends or those whose profile I find very "interesting" and by being on my hotlist I get to see updates that I might normally miss. Don't feel a need to regularly clean it up as it doesn't really bother me. Doesn't take very much effort to monitor updates and as I am not on here all that often there will be quite a few that pass me by.

Mind you, neither list for me is especially large.
