Is there ever a chance of being too nice on here.

Sometimes I can come across slow in the uptake and I think this may put people off as I'd like to chat on here a bit first, general chat, before moving it on.

Some people see this as a lack of interest or intent.

I would rather get to know someone/ a couple first.

Lots of people like to chat first. Don't change your way to suit others. If they're not interested then they're not the right person for you

I like to be nice ... but had so many messages that were not appropriate that I've had to hide my profile so I can stay sane!!

Some people who say they’re nice turn out not to be. Some ‘gentlemen’ can be bastards when no one else is looking. Someone who’s nice to one person may not be nice to another. Stress and pressure affects us all in different ways and the dynamics between different people can change our demeanour so my experience of a person could be completely different to someone else.

What do you mean by nice? I don't think anyone can ever be too nice. They can be too eager to please, complimenting in a cringey way, agreeing with everything you say that sort of thing but too nice, never.
