Sorry, this may sound like a daft question from newbie but ..... when I see socials advertised, how do they work ? Is it a 100% social event just for swingers or more of a mixed event ? I am in South Yorkshire so might be interested in attending a local one with some guidance. Cheers. Will

It's normally in a public place like a bar or hall where people get together to meet new people. There is no play involved, Do not attend with that expectation. Some may decide to play after. Just like a normal time at the pub really.

they vary so widely, you'd be best to ask the organisers what their boundaries are.

i think it varies hugely on where they are held. We've found that those held in clubs tend not to be just social and there is an expectation of play.

Usually a social means you meet to chat over a drink and see if you get along with a view to meeting for sex at a later date. Sort of networking for swingers.

Some socials move on to sex the same day and some don't. It's best to assume that they don't.

They are a great way to find out what is going on in the local scene like private parties and a perfect way for new people to dip their toes in. There is also the bonus that you can get many verifications in one go.

We don't know where the poster above gets the idea they are for timewasters, they obviously have never been to one, or has been and didn't get any interest.

Socials are for people who actually get of their arse, move away from the keyboard and meet real people.

That may be the case for them. Doesn't mean a social will end that way for you. The lady you meet, may just think you're exactly what she's looking for.

I've had plenty of socials whereas some guys looked little like their pics. Some looked the same if not better.

I also take from a social whether I get on with the guy. As a genuine single woman, I will never meet a guy alone for sex if on a social, he makes me feel uncomfortable.

Met a guy in the past, straight for sex. I arrived and he looked nothing like his Pics! All the effort I went to, not to mention travel costs, was for nothing! Never again.

Socials can Show and prove a whole lot of things. I'm not desperate for sex, so for me, socials first are essential

A social is simply that , an opportunity to meet like minded people in a safe and non playing environment .

There is a huge % on here who love the social aspect of swinging . They live for the thrill of looking forward to the next opportunity to pretend they are real swingers by dressing up and parading themselves at these socials . The veri list grows with each social attended , and they revel in saying that most of their veris are from social meets .

So we completely agree with Clem when he says socials are a place where timewasters meet . And we’ve been to plenty and never yet gone to one without playing . Despite being banned from our local monthly social some years ago for having a mass orgy in the men’s toilets !

We now go and play with like minded swingers away from the actual event , or take them dogging . Now and again we get the luxury of a hotel room if they’ve travelled and have one .

This is very much frowned upon by the holier than thou brigade though , who insist the social should be respected as a non playing event . So much so that we can’t be bothered with socials any more for fear of being tarred and feathered and banished to the inner depths of swinging hell

Socials are the closest I've ever gotten to dating... The novelty wore off real quick and I've rebecome a person of loose virtues again lol... Which is infinitely more rewarding than getting d*unk, talking about sex and going home d*unk and horny imo...

I do have a real penchant for a social at a swinger/naturist venue you can go and have sex with your meet if you both feel horny though = perfect solution lol

some people prefer a social first and some don't. Neither is wrong. People who don't like socials tend to avoid them which seems entirely sensible to me and people who do like them go to them which also seems entirely sensible.

IT depends on where the social is and whether it's a group social or just a profile wanting a social.

Group events tend to be where several go and unless it's in a swingers club then there's no play at them. These give you a chance to meet others and have a good laugh (in my experience).

If it's someone saying they're looking for a social then it's whatever they're looking for, could be just a social or could have the opportunity to go further.

We attended one at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park a couple of years ago that was organised by someone from another site we were on, it was a nice day, no pressure and friendly.

It did indeed lead to some very interesting times at later date.

We also have social meets when we connect with someone from here or other sites. That way we can check whether there's chemistry, it works both ways of course, as we may not be what the other party wants or expects.

But simply stated, it's what one makes it.

If people meet and play after a social that's up to them however I think it's unacceptable to behave like that in public, however, we all have different opinions I guess.

Except hopefully after the second meet you can also verify they actually play, rather than just "Serial Socialise" "

Personally I won't meet for sex unless there's a social first to see if we click. I couldn't think of anything worse than arranging to meet for sex and finding there's no spark. At least with a social first you can find that out, if not you've still had a nice time and it can be left at that.

Bumped into a former colleague and a friend who I didn't know was on fab, as well as a few people I know from fab.

Mostly couples and felt a bit clique-y. But a pleasant afternoon of networking.

But shortly afterwards, I was contacted by someone who had seen me there, who invited me to a party, because I turned up and was genuine.

absolutely...or we don't display repeat veris if we get one. We always have a social, they very often end up going further and we've had lots of follow up from organised socials too...the only social we hated was one at a now defunct club...nobody was very friendly and they all disappeared at 9 or so to fuck downstairs...luckily, we'd run into a couple we'd had a previous social with and ended up back at ours...

Got to love the assumption brigade. To me they sound bitter.

All of my verifys are from social meets first. I've met them again at a different date for play. So it does happen and us social lovers aren't time wasters!!

I will never write a verify nor ask them to write me a verify describing anything sexual that we did.

Sexually what I get up to, is between myself and that guy. It's nobody else's business!

Personally I find written detailed sex meets cringy. What I like doing, doesn't mean his next lady will and vice versa. So it's pointless if a guy has a detailed verify describing his sex meet.

I love social gatherings and regularly attend the Sussex Social. I've met some of my best girlfriends thru the social over the years, and it's good to network with local people who are active on the scene rather than hiding behind their laptops at home. I usually find someone to take my fancy and will have some fun afterwards with them, or invite them to a party or club another time. For me it's just a chilled evening in a local pub chatting to some new faces.

I'm not bothered about verifications but for single guys in particular, socials are a good way yo meet some real people and get verified. Whether you play or not!

As someone else said socials are what you make them, yes some just go for the social aspects but others go with the view of meeting people and seeing if there is a connections which can be followed up.

As a couple looking to meet couples that means there are four people who have to happy, therefore we meet loads of people but very few lead to follow up meets for that reason. It does mean we achieve quickly what would otherwise take years to achieve if we were to meet couples individually.

This is very much frowned upon by the holier than thou brigade though , who insist the social should be respected as a non playing event . So much so that we can’t be bothered with socials any more for fear of being tarred and feathered and banished to the inner depths of swinging hell "

Socials are just that, held usually in public venues where non-swingers work, so playing there is only going to lead to issues.

We go with the intention of having a good time, meeting old friends and making new ones, and possibly playing in our hotel room after. Sometimes there will be a small party at someones home.

It is true to a number of people who attend socials may not be prolific in their swinging activities, but our experience is that the majority are genuine swingers.

I don't like the organised group socials, I'm not a sociable person and also find them boring as there's rarely anyone there that I'm interested in playing with. However we always prefer to have a social meet with potential playmates so we can see if we actually like them and want to play with them. These can be in a cafe or pub or even at a club. It works well for us

The Pandoras Club in Leeds is holding regular socials at their clubs on Sundays. They allow people to meet like minded people to chat and are free to enter. If you meet with someone and would like to play... then you pay the normal club entry fee and you can use the play rooms.

I went to one like that once. Some little quiet pub that amazingly was full of single men. The landlord kept commenting how it's usually dead in there. Clearly word had got out but he had no idea.
