Hi sorry but I have a quick question for you all!!

The question is!! If you have been chatting to someone and arranging to meet them but then after seeing a picture you realise they are not for you, do you, "A" tell them politely thanks but you dont fancy them and wish them well or "B" just block them??

We don't invest time chatting first. Of course we need the mental connection and to click -

definitely. But there's so many profiles on here we could chat to do we need to see face pics up front.

I ask for face pictures early on to save getting invested, I’ve been guilted into disappointing meets before and didn’t feel good afterwards

Generally I'm just honest but some people just don't like it so they end up blocked

As you have been talking to them the polite thing to do is to tell them that they are not for you and then if you feel it is necessary block them. Harsh but fair at least they know where they stand.

I’d have thought before arranging a meet you’d have wanted to see them to avoid this happening no?

We always politely tell them that they aren't what we are looking for, and wish them happy swinging.

We hardly use the block button for anyone.

we used to be polite (on a previous profile) but wasted so much time telling people to "please read the profile" (and you will see why we are not interested thank you e.g beards) that we now just block pretty quickly

We wouldn’t get into that situation. We don’t chat unless we know what someone looks like and them us. That way no hopes up or disappointment.

Up on them there hills

Polite, then if they come back, depends.

If I’m in the mood, for competitive sport, had a bad sports injury so that ruled that out, and wanting to play, I engage till it doesn’t entertain me no more.

If they are, we’ll beyond cognitive reasoning, due to physical circumstances may I add, just block the fuckers...

If it was me id rather you just be straight up, cards on the table and tell the reason. If you blocked me then id be thinking was it someting i did or said.

Somewhere Only We Know

We would politely say we’re flattered but unfortunately there’s no spark. Honesty would be the best policy. If they become pissy about it, then block and pat yourself on the back for avoiding a nutcase. After all, this is an adult site for adults, children have no place here.

I’d definitely be honest with him. And wish him all the best. It’s good manners.

Ghosting is just rude.

But, I do block afterwards. As sometimes men accidentally message again. Or sometimes they message trying to convince me or asking for a detailed explanation why... and I don’t want to go through that.

I don't chat much unless I've seen the face pic. So not wasting any time there.

If someone is not for me I tell them and then block so they can't hassle me about it, or come back in 6 months

We tell them, then make a note on their profile. That way if they get in touch a

few weeks/months later, we know its time to consider blocking else we end up stuck in a loop. We've had very few bad responses to telling them.

A if it’s necessary, don’t think we’ve ever blocked anyone and don’t intend to unless they get arsey.

We use the notes feature to remind ourselves if we’ve politely declined!

Yeah I don’t really get the blocking just because we don’t want to meet them. We don’t want to meet 99.9% of Fab. I suppose we could routinely block every single person that looks at our profile, everybody on like local searches, everybody who Fabs our pictures, and everybody who messages or winks us, and just keep those on our friends list or hotlist unblocked. That would certainly save all these unwanted people popping up on searches. But surely there’s more to Fab than just shortlisting people to meet.
