In my (mr) opinion:

First, you need to speak to her about it, properly. It needs a LOT of understanding and trust. If you can't have the discussion you shouldn't be doing it.

Second, your description of 'wife share' straight off makes me think you've got the wrong end of the stick about the whole dynamics of it all.

Talk to her. Ask her straight out if she's interested or not. If she says "no" tell her that you're getting mixed messages because she's always making jokes about it. You will know where you stand then.

You shouldn't need to be in an open marriage (or in fact any kind of relationship, open or not), to know that 1. Communication is paramount and 2. What consent is.

We've been together for 11 years and he's always known I'm bi. Early doors I asked if he ever thought he'd be up for it, he said no, I respected that, end of. He joked about it over the years, as did I. Fortunately for me he's come around to the idea recently (of his own volition) and when I cracked a joke about it a couple of months ago we talked about it and agreed we'd open up.

If you have to talk someone into doing something like this then their heart won't be in it. Would you enjoy it if she wasn't really up for it? I know I wouldn't want to put my partner through that.
