Which is harder?

Reading through messages and picking the ones that tickle your fancy

or

composing lots of thoughtful and unique messages and sending them to people and hoping for a reply?

Composing a message can be much harder to do in my opinion. It may be that you know what want to say in your message, but are not sure how to word it, so it comes out all wrong. Therefore you end up starting again or getting frustrated. When you finally send the message you then hope that the it has been written is good enough to warrant a reply.

Same! If there's a well written profile with attractive photos I will probably reply.. it's definitely harder to compose a decent first message so I can understand why people wouldn't want to waste too much time writing something which may get ignored.

So, following on from the responses so far, is it a valid assertion that a section of fabbers are making too much noise about the quality of messages they receive?
