Because it seems that "good Morning" is seen as boring and unimaginative. Apparently.

I still start most conversations with friends this way though. Call my old fashioned

It is still acceptable. We use it all the time.

Younger people might use a different greeting but apart from the two examples mentioned or hello, hi etc how else does one start a conversation?

Depends where you're referring to OP - if out in the real world with real time interaction then "Good Morning/Afternoon etc" is a perfectly acceptable conversation opener that is used millions of times each day.

If however, as I suspect, you're referring to Fab then just "Good Morning/Afternoon etc" in its own is unlikely to generate much of a response as people will be looking for something a little more than that to respond to - otherwise you end up in a ping pong world of:

You: Good Morning/Afternoon etc

Them: Good Morning/Afternoon

You: How are you today?

Them: I'm good thanks, you?

You: I'm good too

Etc etc ad nauseam...which considering the number of messages most ladies gets is impossible to maintain with everyone they get a message from

And that is exactly what happens

Ive tested it

Many times

It makes me wonder what those men would do if they actually got me in the bedroom

If that is the sum total of their conversational skills

As opposed to

'FAF?'

I mean, I probably wouldn't reply to either but it's still a bit nicer

To respond to every received 'good morning' would simply open the floodgates of 'how are you', 'what you up to', and 'how you enjoying fab' type of inane small talk.

So we choose not to respond to them all. Does that make us rude in some random stranger from the internets opinion? Maybe it does, we won't be losing sleep over that.

Does this look like the face of concern?

it's perfectly acceptable start to a conversation, but if you are talking about a first message on here then it needs to be followed by something interesting

I start the day saying good morning. I find a lot still do. Not sure it’s lack of manners but I think it’s may be an outdated term? Quite a lot of messages start with hey or hi. Seems to be the norm now

We get lots of one liners saying good morning, hi etc from single men. Lots of other couples do too. It gets very boring after a while to be honest!!

I think a hello is fine here, then we look at their profile and see if we are interested. No point in guys spending ages on a first message if it turns out there is no attraction anyway, a good message wont make me attracted to someone that i'm not.

I think that op you'll find that human communication and interaction are largely context dependent. A person greeting a solitary stranger with a - cheery or not - salutation on a dark isolated city spot, or a public toilet compared with on a busy shopping street and when hiking, will get context driven responses.

If the op is trying to leverage getting to know someone , in order to get sex, the focus should be upon how to improve your results so that - in the context of fab - your efforts prove more effective.

Learn site rules, experiment and adapt your approach. Reevaluate your expectations when in new environments and decide whether things are right for you.

Good morning’, ‘how are you’ is just small talk for people like work colleagues. It just passes the time of day. As we have little interest in chatting to random people on the Internet, there’s not much point in people using a those phrases as a conversation opener with us on Fab. And I don’t really like being in that dilemma where we will either be rude for not replying, or forced into a conversation we never wanted.
