I'm amazed at how many extremely short boring profiles there are on here.

Are others put off by profiles that show very little effort or imagination???

A person with a one line profile with no pic is more likely to message me with an equally unimaginative one line message.

It gets deleted without a respond before I block him, as I am unlikely to be interested in meeting him.

A re-written jazzed up profile that may be more appealing to the would-be playmates, which may bring more meet success.

I’m not keen on sexually uninformative profiles which don’t give the reader an insight into the profile owners sexual likes and dislikes, limits and boundaries,,,,,

Simply because, all to often I’ve found people with empty profiles attempt to fill in the blanks during private messages exchanges, saying whatever they think will then tempt the reader to believing they will be compatibly matched. Only too find out that once given a chance, the empty profile owner fails to deliver elements they misleadingly claimed as shared preferences in order to get the meet.

I don't do it either as I think it lead to a lot of "generic" profiles... where people were putting in what others said made them look good and used all the "buzz words", as opposed to actually thinking for themselves

again.. minimum effort for maximum results...

I totally agree. People reap what they sow, a one line profile is fine if you think you can compete with the more imaginative and interesting guys on here - go for it. Just don't start a thread asking why you can't get meets or moaning that women are ignorant - never fails to make me smile when the moaning opening thread is twice as long as the original profile

Over time we've had a long profile, a short profile and various lengths in between. We've noticed that the volume and quality of interest we get remains pretty consistent regardless, which leads us to believe that people are going more by the the pics than the words. Which is fine, as we're happy with the results.

I don't think that a poorly written profile always means that someone is not good in bed or an imaginative lover, after all some people cannot read or write, and they could be awesome in bed. Saying that, one needs to stand out on a site like this, but its a combination of your photos and what your profile says. The best profile in the world will get you nowhere though if the other person does not find you attractive, or if your not their preferred height or ethnicity etc.

Its a tough one, I personally don't like long profiles, I prefer to chat to someone either on here or phone, as personality is more important to me in real time rather than what someone takes ages thinking " how can I come across best"

I'm not keen on boring profiles, to me it shows a lack of effort. Having said that, I'm not keen on profiles that contain lots of lines starting with, 'we DO NOT', 'under NO circumstances', 'never' and so on.

With mine, I've just played it for laughs, whilst trying to get across the fact that I do not want to travel to Inverness, I work long hours so can't meet this precise moment and no the boobies aren't actually real.

When I first arrived on similar sites to here, I often kept the Profile content to an absolute minimum, and more often than not, was criticised fro not giving out enough details.

But as my confidence grew over the years, I began to increase the amount of information.

Nowadays, I work on supplying a Profile that is as honest and fully detailed as possible.

That way, people who _iew my Profile, have a clear image of me right from the start; it assists them to decide whether to follow up contacting me.

From time to time too, I do adjust the profile, even if it is by a few words!

Can't say I've read any male profiles, so can't comment.

I've read many a long and many a short profile and generally avoid the one's chock full of Do's and Dont's.

I would expect an intelligent and articulate woman is on here to find someone she can connect with but doesn't want a relationship with, or seeking men of certain races or anything connected to their fantasy, someone or something that isn't easily attainable in their day to day life..... sadly that isn't most often the case.......

What is the sequence of events when you come across someone in a chat room or in a forum and think "she or he seems alright, I will make contact"?

Do people look at the profile first, read it carefully and weigh up whether they want to write and then write a message or write first and then read the profile later?

I must confess to being a writer then skim reader then proper reader then wish I'd read properly first time.

Why make the same mistake twice when you can make a brand new mistake instead? (;-)

I am limited at the momemt by crappy £20 phone i use to access but swear when i get a real actual computer/laptop

I can then update and better pics.

Was about to post a similar thread, what is the point of 2 or 3 word profiles with no pics ??? ...had contact this morning from a couple with said profile and when you point it out to them they get shirty with you

If I get a message from someone new I read their profile before the message (Mr does the opposite) - and I will make judgements based upon how good/ bad (imo) their profile is. I do tend to find, however, that a short profile will also have a short message.

I hate 'will fill this in later' and 'if you want to know anything else, just ask' - No! Your profile is an ad to sell yourself - use it!

I have met someone with a carp 1 line profile (and unverified) because I'd been chatting to them in the chatrooms - afterwards I suggested they change their profile - they did (although it's now only about 4 lines!

Agree. So it's about quality of the words, not the volume. The initial suggestion in this thread was that short equals boring or demonstrates lack of effort. Not necessarily true at all.

Agreed, to a point. A first impression can be a thoughtful or entertaining message, or great pics. It's a package, and the length and quality of the text on a profile is just one element. Btw, I learned long ago not to make assumptions

It's about selling yourself which I disagree with but still have taken care of that

Make sure you read till the end .

Did you get to the end of my profile without getting bored , and did the last bit put a smile on your face

your profile was the same as your last one so no big changes there and u still wonder why you cant get a meet!!!!!"

I thought the last one had more depth and detail but got a bit boring towards the middle .

This is a new approach and I like it much better.

It's already showing better results

As for profiles I work on a number of principles (careful Paul has principles!)

1. Too short but with verifications - will entertain

2. Text Speak - Me no likey

3. Too "aggressive" - Wont meet

4. Any thing with "SINGLE GUYS READ!!!) - won't read

5. Anything that says "handsome" "attractive", not meeting, bring the swinger, not the ego

6. Too long, well I will read, but its bound to have clause 5b (subsection ii, i.e. must look like Jonny Depp, have the frame of Linford Christie, own castle (with moat), and 12" cock

So I restrict myself quite heavily to people I will meet...

1. If it says "fun" - me likey

2. If it says "relaxed" me likey

3. If it says "average people" me likey

I think yeah boring profile might put some off, but no matter how good or interesting your profile is, if you dont have photos showing you at your best and looking really good then from a male side of things your onto a loosing battle

people can write what they want but needs a good photo to really get people to probally read whats written if you message them
