"If someone mails me and I know instantly they are not my cup of tea I will say a no thanks and then block as it saves them contacting me again showing me the same photo and showing an interest again. If I have said no thanks once its gonna be a no thanks again. Easier to block to save going through it all again" Perhaps this person has the same outlook, I can see it makes sense in some respects, perhaps someone has had a bad experience of a member not taking no for an answer. Just made me wonder while I sat here twiddling my er.... Thumbs on a Friday night! Hehe

"I am curious at what point someone blocks another and would love to hear peoples _iews. I must admit to having block some folk, usually for rude emails or continual bombardment! However, I have just found myself blocked! Sent a polite intro email, got a reply saying thanks but not their type, which is understandable as no matter how lovely my mum keeps telling me I am and that i am special I appreciate I am not everyone's cup of tea! So anyway I went to reply to say thanks for letting me know and........ BLOCKED! Now I will come to terms with this after 3 or 4 nights of sobbing into my pillow and cuddling up with my teddy but made me wonder at what point others block someone! Look forward to some others _iew points! " They probably saw another e-mail from you and assumed it was the "Why dont you fancy me e-mail" so therefore blocked you. It is frustrating to get repeat e-mails of the same people so often easier to just block them

Besides.....if they've said no they block to be sure you won't ask again.

And i was blocked after their reply so no chance to send another. Is that what you would do question why they didn't fancy you? And anyway, I was asking about when others block not to get people second guessing why i was lol

"You've been here long enough to have heard every reason for blocking. You've also read post where people say they don't respond because of people writing back, so my question would be after being told "thanks but no thanks" why you replied again? " It was just a good manners thanks for letting me know. You always hear people saying how they never get replies. Is it wrong to say thanks?

I was anticipating negative responses to my post, in the line of me not being very charitable or nice, or whatever, that's why!

"I got blocked the other month, I was using my iPhone to browse profiles etc, I came across a couple looking to meet, so I winked them, they winked back at me, I went to press to send a message and accidentally pressed Wink, Whilst writing a message to them explaining what I had done, I received an abusive message calling me a Wanker, total Prick, telling me I was BLOCKED for winking back a second time! Didn't even let me say sorry for my mistake! " Sending abusive emails over such a trivial matter is bunny boiler behaviour. Lucky for you that you'll never meet them!

Correct me if i am wrong but they never said blocking is aggressive we all know its a tool, and wielded in different ways by different people. What i think was being said there was there is no need for abusive emails, there is never a need to be rude and abusive.

(a) because i appreciate the recipients honesty and (b) i hope to show by example that not all single blokes on here respond to rejection with a torrent of abuse or ill manners. Not that i am purporting to be a saint in any way, just that i am happy to appreciate i'm not everyones cup of tea

"I don't want to talk to someone i block them. I dont want them looking at my profile ..I block them. I don't like someone... guess " We are the same! I honestly don't get why people get upset by being blocked on a site where, let's face it, we are all mostly strangers to each other! If I have found us blocked by someone I've not give it an ounce of thought.... we have better things to do tbh. The person/couple that has blocked us have THEIR reasons for it and I am grateful that they have used a site tool to save us wasting time reading/looking at their profile and trying to make contact.

"It must have had some affect on you OP or you wouldn't have started this thread. You also seem unable to accept that not everyone will act as you'd like. I blocked people who sent messages telling me the type of people I should meet. I blocked people who have made racist comments on the forums, I have no interest in them but I have a goldfish memory and look at profiles if someone makes a comment that intrigues me etc. I also blocked after I'd sent a "thanks, but no thanks" message and they replied again. Simply because in my experience it NEVER stops there. It ALWAYS leads to a follow up "hi, how are you" a few days later. It's not offensive, but when you have limited time you don't want to waste it on people you have no interest in meeting. Conversely, why waste time messaging people to be "polite" who have already said no when there's a whole site of potential playmates. Just my opinion, but I'll leave your thread as you don't seem to appreciate differing _iews." Jeepers woman, it is a thread asking others opinions and _iews, I have no problem with differing _iews. There's no need to over analyse it. And I don't see how you can say it ALWAYS leads to a follow up. You do make me chuckle but at least you have now responded to the thread as asked so congrats on that why say you will leave the thread? its not mine its not like its my ball and you are not playing with it! That would be childish, its a post in a public forum open to others. Enjoy

"Its a power thing, the wee block icon gives folks a sense of power and control, something they dont have in the real life i guess. Now runs like fcuk for cover before the barrage of blocks and abuse " . I disagree. It is my choice whether to use it or not, and I do not block without a reason, even if the reasons for blocking could be _iewed as over the top by the others. The world would be a very dull place if we all think and behave the same way!
