It’s a great help and have wheedled our many that use pics copied off the internet

Just found a Hot pic one that’s from the Internet too !

Yep, used it now and then. Try it on your own pics some time. Might be surprised what you find (not aimed at OP as I know you've had this issue in the past) but to everyone.

If you google reverse image search a few will cons up

My fave is tineye and you upload your pic and it tells you how many times it’s on the internet on public sites

Many uploaded fake pics are from porn sites and go back years

Google for 'Tiny Eye Extension' then just use it as a browser plugin.

Just click on the image and right click to look for matching images.

It is of course not foolproof and loads of ways of disguising stolen photos.

5-10% of images are stolen I'd say for a guess.

Tinyey is definitely handy.

The thing that baffles me at times though is profiles that seem to be genuine with a lot of verifications (rather than just 1) and yet they mix in fake pics with the genuine ones on their profile.

If a site disables robots from indexing directories they will not be indexed by search engines in that case.

Also if the image is 'flipped' (so that it is back to front) it will not match in a search.

Once had a guy using Jared Leto with his head cropped off and he was adamant it was a genuine pic. Best bit was he was verified.

To me if caught with fake pics you automatically lose all form of verification as how can you be verified as real when your using false images.

Yup. Lots of fakes are obvious (American electric plugs in background or left hand drive cars being my fav giveaways) and others just look like porn.

Also lots of vanilla pretty facial pics on a new account with no attempt at disguise is usually a sign they've been nicked off some poor lassie on Facebook. Lol

There is often a few in hotpics and I always google anyone that contacts me that I think look too good to be true...have called alot out... one still keeps trying with pics of the same guy...it is an internet famous guy that wouldn't even look at me to laugh...he swears it is him lmao

Our pics are all over the internet yet none of the reverse image programs/services ever find them or any other image we put into it. This leaves us with the conclusion that they're a load of crap. The numbers alone should give you a clue at the futility of them.

Using TinEye an image was searched against a couple of Billion images.

You'll find that the internet has Trillions and trillions of images and that's just the visible net.

It's like looking for a particular grain of sand in a bucket when you need to be able to search the whole beach

Yep, we've had that, thay never say where the pics are though.

Reverse image search is useful but must also be treated with some caution. Some fabbers have accounts with different names on other sites (eg deviantart) and post the same pictures there. Sometimes people are too quick to shout "fake"

If I was going to have a fake profile I’d certainly find better pics than the ones I’ve got. I’ve used reverse image once or twice to see how it works but never to out a fake, who has time for that stuff.

Not all of them of course but a lot of ‘pro’ looking porn pics are .. normal everyday ones on well verified accounts are pretty safe
