Wife 0 - 100 in the blink of an eye

OK, one for the ladies to answer (or male doctors and diy gynaecologists)

For the past 10+ years my wife has had 0 interest in sex (hence being on here) a few months ago it was like someone had lit a fire under her libido and she's off the scale, buying toys, clothes, lubes and acting out all manner of fantasies that weren't even apparent when we first met (latest one is a request for another guy to join in ) She wants to experiment and play constantly.

Is this fairly common for a female in their mid - late forties?

I'm not complaining by the way, long may it last

Maybe by you being on here she feels more relaxed about sex because she knows you're not going to push her away or think she's a freak. Maybe now feels more comfortable in exploring her sexier side because you are?

I know with an ex I never felt comfortable enough to be really open about my fantasies or instigate sex with him, but with Tod I know he's a kinky so & so, so I feel confident to tell him what I like & want & often pounce on him. It's not that I didn't want sex before with my ex, I just didn't feel confident enough to ask for it.

Or she could be a symptom of the beginning of the menopause?

Simone and there's another thing, which you're (no doubt successfully) exploiting, why does a woman's sex drive go through the roof in their 40's when a guys peak is in their 20's?

Is it a cruel trick by the big man?

Definately agree, when I hit my 40s my fair near exploded and I love it xx, and the best bit, now that I'm no longer married, I get to sample the delights of this site, whereas before had to put up with boring inadequate sex from the ex hehehe x

Ok a medical answer.

I'd need to get a lot more specific detail fro you however one simpler theory is:

Menopause is coming. Durnig this phase the esterogen levels decrease and her testosterone levels will increase. You can check by noting the hairs under her nose, if they are thicker and stronger for longer than during her normal cycle then the menopause is kicking in!

During normal cycle upper lip hair will get a little thicker for a few weeks and then fall out.

Other factors include a change in life style, the children have grown up so she's not burning hormones as much, and her body isn't releasing high levels of relaxants and other chemicals which override libido.

Mid life crisis (look out mine destroyed our family, resulting in the kids loosing both parents and my ex loosing her career, and most of the people in our lives, thankfully I still have my international support.)

I could go on for pages though. Need to know more about her and her lifestyle.

It could be nothing to worry about or it could be the lead up to your life being hell.

That is a long medical explanation you are best to google!

It has to do with capcacity to raise children and have babies with many women at the same time to have many children born at the same time in order to bring about survival of the gene pool.

And a lot of other factors

The last few years my sex drive has went through the roof. For me it boils down to a number of things. My children are grown up and I have more time for myself, and for each other. My age and feeling more confident about myself and my body.

Well I'm only 34 at the mo and my sex drive is very very high now....Looking forward to it getting even higher when I hit my 40's. (although may have to give up work as I already struggle to get enough sex now).

Guess I better warn my man that he's got a LOT more coming his way hehehe

Thats because men can't wait. Women are more sensible. We spend our 20's laughing at you lot making idiots of yourselves while we hide under the sheets getting to know our own bodies. Then we have kids & spend our time breast feeding or rushing about being a mum/wife/whatever. Then we grow up, realise that we are who we are, we learn to love our bodies and our confidence soars. Then we have the time of our lives

At 43 mine stopped dead.. for ten years I didnt think of sex at all absolutely nothing,thyroid underactive bad body and self image and depression. came back with a wham when I discovered hubby was having affair.

God played a cruel trick,making guys randy terriers threw there teens into mid 20s,while ladies hit there peak in there 40s,that why i always say to guys in work that are in there 40s and wed to make sure they keep having sex,as I've heard a few say I'd rather have a cup Of tea lol which I slap them and say oi sort it out !!!!! As u need to be giving ur good lady what she needs lol

There's a lot of truth in what you said, especially about the kids growing up etc.

I do think there's something in the fact that we've had a very stressful past 10+ years, but now business is doing well, kids are now independent in terms of needing mothering and I do think the menopause clock may be ticking.

The only negative is the pressure to constantly book hotels for "big sessions" as kids are home, so we can't make noise and it's starting to create moods on her side when the opportunities aren't available or can't be created.

I guess if I can't keep up, I'll have to introduce some willing helpers and get her into swinging
