Can you take gym fit too far?

Jump to newest

So I've seen some people on threads say they won't meet "gym fit" people for whatever reason. This got me thinking:

A) Do you have a limit with how "fit" you would like people to be for your preference?

B) Can some people go too far with the fit body where it becomes just purely unattractive?

A) fit is good, they have more stamina

B) Can't be too gym fit, but I wouldn't be into bodybuilders XXX

that's not to say they can't be fit btw, being slim/toned and being fit are very different things

I would say with context they aren't. Yes you can be slim and unfit but as we're talking about body shapes I would say they're synonymous.

I find ripped, gym honed bodies intimidating. I'd be very aware I'm rather squidgy in comparison.

So it's not that I find them unattractive, quite the opposite, but I'd constantly be wondering why the hell would someone ripped be interested in someone clearly not.

And as for too far, I don't like so lean that veins become prominent, but I know vascularity is hard to maintain for a lot due to low body fat needed.

The irony is that most gym fit people don't pass the self assesment criteria on to others. They're more critical of themselves.

I was wondering this as I was thinking of next year and if I'm going to get even leaner. You're right though, you can't maintain it for too long.

Never been into overly muscular people, like a bit of softness in sexual partners. It's about the feel not just the look.

I think it is more to do with confidence. Some are just intimidated by a super fit body.

Surely if a person is putting in the work, they won't think that they are taking "gym fit" too far. They're taking it exactly as far as they want.

This is just another subjective preference. It's like asking "can a person eat too much?" Some people will like the BBWs, others won't.

I don't care how gym fit someone is, if they give the kind of sex I want. Sometimes, with very fit men, I feel like I'm a workout for them and they don't stop to smell the roses.

I met someone recently-for the second time -who is extremely fit, because his job dictates he has to be. He's not only strong-with a lot of stamina-but sensual, passionate and erotic too.

Fit doesn't mean banging away for everyone.

Agreed.

But if I'm not enjoying myself, he'll know.

And if he's not enjoying himself, I'll know.

Unless he possesses fantastic acting skills of course.

Personally I can put aside hangups during sex. More about performance.

I find ripped bodies impressive purely because of the dedication of the person involved to achieve and maintain it. On a woman it loses attraction for me when she loses her feminine curves. A lady friend of mine is an Olympic standard boxer, very ripped but no boobs, pecs like a bloke and she looks like a cartoon.

What about gym fat

I am by no means fat, 18% actually but I'm consistently getting bigger at the rate of about 3-4kg per year. In another 2-3 years I'll be about 20 stone.

I don't have abs and am not ripped, of no use to me. I also don't have a gut.

Is this sort of physique offputting, especially creeping upto 20st in weight.

Clearly defined abs and the sculpted look, that harsh ‘V’ down to the pelvis...massive turn off. Always has been. Actually makes me shudder. In the heady days of the original Take That, I fancied Gary Barlow.

But that doesn’t mean I don’t like fit men and I respect and admire the effort and discipline that goes into creating such Grecian physiques... but there’s a line for me, like for everyone.

I’m more of a ‘built like a brick outhouse, rugby-player with massive upper arms, thighs and shoulders and maybe a bit of a gut’ kinda gal. A dude who could get into Valhalla maybe, rather than the pretty, smooth and sleek marble-esque sculptures that come out of a gym. Different strokes and all that

i had meets with gym people and meets with people who don't ever go there. it's about personality. I might be slightly more cautious before meeting with gym folks for one reason only- I don't like vain people. if how you look yourself during sex becomes too much of a focus it simply spoils the fun and our personalities don't match.

I completely get where you're coming from with this one as I used to be really confused when I would be playing with this ripped hunk of a man. To the point it also made me feel a bit insecure. But I quickly got over that when I realised they could've had anyone else who was more gym-fit, yet they chose me. They must have some good reason to have chosen me - and ultimately the confidence boost that gave me once I saw it that way.

Besides that, vascularity is sexy to me :P
