Opening a new club, is a tricky proposition regardless of the type that your talking about.
The market for this type of club is the swinging / naturism cross over market. While Eurekas is popular with both, it's not always rammed to the hilt, but its certainly more popular in the summer.
If your going to open something up North, and you had the money to invest in a place with a similar set up, then your best bet as a financial proposition would be to open a club that appeals to the widest market possible. That means a dedicated singles and a deadicated couples night, and a whole host of other things you could do. However any new venue, unless it is on a par with something like fun4two in Holland, is unlikely to be able to pack them in more than three days a week, and even getting three healthy days will be very hard, unless you really go state of the art.
Even clubs with great facilities will suffer terribly if they are not properly run. (Its happening to two of our favourite clubs right now, painful to watch)
Eureka may well attract people during the day, but they have a long standing customer base to draw from, as do Chams, which is almost the only club in the UK to be open all week, again its long standing, has constantly reinvested money into the venue, and has a loyal customer base and it doesnt rip them off.
You need to visit several clubs, we would also recommend you goto Uptopias in the North East before you embark on anything, they target a similar market. |
