"It's a very interesting question, and it has made me think. Whilst I'm full of admiration for anyone who's trying to lose weight for health reasons, in purely aesthetic terms the resultant skin can be unattractive when naked. I don't know enough about it to understand if the skin is better if weight is lost more slowly, and exercise undertaken. Can someone help me get this splinter out of my arse please?" Once you get to my age it doesn't seem to matter

"Whose to say either is unattractive? I personally find a more curvaceous figure hugely enticing - the loss of a few inches and the inevitable call of gravity wouldn't change the appeal - personality wins out " No one is and personality always wins. But in the even one had to choose one of the two which might one find more attractive than the other?

"I'd like the male opinion on a particular question. I would like to know which is less attractive. Someone who is a bit fat (size 20ish) or someone who has lost weigth but will now be a bit saggy in places? I accept neither can be attractive, just want an opinion n which is the the lesser of two evils as it were. It's just an opinion, no right or wrong. I am interested, not going to base my decision on what is said here so don't worry about that. The question is about those two scenarios only, NOT about BBW, fat bashing, health risks, drain on the NHS or however else someone might want to attempt to derail the thread " How about if said person had a lovely personality? Who gives a fuck if someone has a bit of flab, or is a size 20... it's not always about first impressions.

Correct I know of some very large ladies, and they have a wonderful outlook on life and a bubbly personally, they don't care a out their size... it's what's inside that counts.

"I used to be a size 20 OP. I wanted to lose weight and did so with a change to diet and exercise. I am happier with my body now but not happy with it IYKWIM The only place I have saggy skin is to the abdomen. I wasn't sure about putting our latest pic up because of it but it is what it is. I'd rather have the sag than be the size I was (that's just my opinion of myself not saying what anyone else 'should' be) even though at my slimmest the sag made me look bigger. Anyway just my two pence worth as someone who's been there. " I appreciate your view, sound like you got to point like me where it was a question of flab vs sag

"Only going from what I've actually experienced I'd say bigger over saggier. Someone I knew was morbidly obese and was well over size 26. She had a stomach banding abroad and then got an infection and a few other problems and didn't eat properly and lost the weight extremely fast. Her whole body was saggy skin as she dropped to a size 8 and she hated it , she was definitely happier when she was bigger. Extreme case due to the speed the weight dropped off and such a pity because she was a massively confident woman before." Another sad story, hope she's recovering her confidence?

There's no such thing as a good or bad personality as it's really up to you if you decide if someone is funny, confident, serious etc. Such traits are usually obvious to us immediately after spending time with someone if we like them or not.

Losing the weight can counter act most of these things, if you have some lose skin then chose lingerie that excentuates and hides the places your sensitive about. My answer was being over weight, having some saggy skin can be covered with sexy clothing. You asked a question and I answered it " I don't believe I asked you a question. I also don't believe the OP asked about health risks of being overweight.

"Well the sad fact is neither looks great, tho a lot of guys do go for big women. What’s more important here is your health, of Your a big girl there are health implications increased likelihood of diabetes and heart disease. As well as poor mobility and the damage it does to your joints. That’s with out the fact you can’t find anything nice to wear. Losing the weight can counter act most of these things, if you have some lose skin then chose lingerie that excentuates and hides the places your sensitive about. Basques and the like are great for this and look and will make you feel sexy. So don’t use the saggy skin as an excuse not to lose weight your life will definitely improve if you do And we have the first health comment! *insert party emoji* Well I’ve seen the health of people I love be decimated because they are over weight It is literally a fact that being over weight is bad for you. Am I supposed to pretend this is not the case just because some people are sensitive about their weight As long as you're also concerned for your slimmer friends who smoke/drink too much/maybe don't get enough sleep/eat badly. Newsflash: Fat people are well aware of their health. The question is about those two scenarios only, NOT about BBW, fat bashing, health risks, drain on the NHS or however else someone might want to attempt to derail the thread " Personally it's about how I "click" with the said woman. I enjoy conversations and flirting. There is something attractive in all women be it the way they walk, the glint in their eye, how they smile etc.. I would never dismiss on body alone, afterall, I am no Adonis...

If minx's decision to stay the size she is or lose weight and take the risk of having saggy bits n bobs is very close perhaps health benefit may sway her decision." Yes this exactly, I’m not being horrible just making the point she shouldn’t be put off by some saggy skin. Lose the weight and wear a basque plus possible live longer it’s all good

"I think it depends entirely on personality. .... If the person looking is shallow and superficial it will be an issue either way. ... If they are deep enough to explore the mind and personality of their prospective partners before making a final judgment then it shouldn't be an issue either way. ....." That's a very good point

"Size 20 to me is still sexy depending on height. Much after that is not so. Someone who has lost weight and as a result has excess skin is commendable that they are strong enough to make a big difference in themselves. The limit of when said skin becomes unattractive is just preference... " Thank you

"I think I've personality covered Unless everyone's been lying to me Not to put what you said down here but I think you should know personality is something we key to individually. There's no such thing as a good or bad personality as it's really up to you if you decide if someone is funny, confident, serious etc. Such traits are usually obvious to us immediately after spending time with someone if we like them or not." You're very right

"Either is perfectly fine. And any guy shallow enough to care shouldn't get to see you in the buff anyway. And once you get to work he'll be too distracted to care much either way. Us men are simple creatures, we can't concentrate on more than one thing at a time (or perhaps thats just me)" I don't feel it's shallow to not like some body features but I get that men aren't as picky as one would have thought

Women today are under huge pressure to be thin and i think the beauty and fashion industries are to blame . But having said that....if it possibly to have that removed these days. But why not just keep the weight on. Plenty of men will still love you for it." I don't have problems meeting men for sure I think the option to have it removed makes me want to carry on, I'd like to be a size 14/16

I've been losing weight, nearly 7 stone over 6 years. I think my decision is more about how far to go. But health benefits has been at the root of it for a long time " Good on you!!! The thing nobody has mentioned though is how would it make you feel in either case? There has been talk about the physical implications but the elephant in the room here (no pun intended) is mental health. If you stop loosing weight because of the fear of saggy skin would you feel defeated? Alternatively if you loose the weight and have saggy skin what effect would it have on your self image? How would you deal with it? If it was negative it could potentially send you into a downward spiral and cause you to gain weight again. While captain hornpipe is correct in stating the physical effects, these are also big issues in an ever more stretched area of the health service. You think A & E is stretched to breaking on a Friday or Saturday night you want to look at the mental health care teams statistics. "Recommended targets" is often wildly unachieved every single hour of every single day. It's why health care is now person centred on the "patient" as a whole including physically mental and to a lesser extent social health and well being. Long and short of it is, do what is best for you in the long run, and anybody else be damned.
