Me and hubs are on here obviously. He isn't on Facebook I am. Recently I have been getting messages from random guys commenting about fab and our profile. How the hell do they find time to trawl through Facebook finding people! My Facebook block list resembles our block list on here! M x

Is your phone number linked to your Fb by any chance?

If they have your number you will pop up on their 'who you might know' list.

Are your non sexual photos on Facebook perhaps? Maybe they've done a reverse image search on them and found them that way if you've not restricted who can see them?

But I agree it's sad anyone's bothered to search you out. Perhaps you need to lock down your FB account to friends only.

Not the non sexual ones on here no.

My Facebook is already locked down as tight as it can be to friends only.

Shall have a look see if there is anything else I can do on there. Or just delete It, as I hardly use it x

Yup. Have similar experience.

I have a blank Facebook account that I use cos a couple of local groups I'm involved in use it to communicate - football team etc.

I have no 'friends' on it and never post.

Yet it regularly suggests people I know to be on the scene locally. I can only assume it's making a connection between some Fab friends I have mobile numbers for and their wider network.

Forget big brother and Government spying on you. The real issue is fellow swingers. Lol

This will become more of a problem with the new iPhones facial recognition software. It will recognise faces in photos you comment on, store that information and then use that information to make a suggestion. The age of having private profiles is coming to an end.

What’s wrong with people that they think they can just add you on Facebook. I believe that this side of my life is private and I want it to stay that way for as long as possible. I often see a lady in Tesco who is on this site. I have never approached her and spoken about it.

There should be an etiquette to this.

There is with most people I would hope.

Hiding in the shadows

I've not had it happen on here, but I was on a dating site a long time ago, and regularly got random friends request on FB from people who'd 'liked' me on there.

Kinda scary, when you've got personal stuff, family photos etc on there.

Hope you sort your issue out xx

Can you give us a general idea of where people may be going wrong?

Using real first names on here is not a good idea.

Main thing was real name on here . Linked with city on Facebook and all of a sudden you have a very small list of people. Unfortunately for op she was top of this list as well. Pictures weren't as locked down as well as op probably thought they were. So even with just a few pics on show a nutter could soon be sure it's you. Especially if some pics are the same as fab open pics . Remember Them finding your profile on Facebook ain't a massive problem it what they find after that effect friends relatives work etc

Once the op has changed the things that make it easy for you to find her, could you let us all know what they were . I would really like to make sure I'm not making the same mistakes! Thanks Hx

Also phone numbers are a big rhibg. Not only do people come up in the likely friends list you can put a phone number in Facebook search and if the person hasn't hidden their number then their profile will pop up

And remember the the smaller the location you have on fab the more careful you need to be . Eg if your location is London then it will be very hard for them to find your but if your location is a small town with small population then it's alot easier

Image search app is very good. For checking people out. You put photos on here then they'll find you one way or another. Best bet is not to pics on. I've learnt my lesson believe me

Another simple thing is just don't have face pics in your public profile, we don't even have them in private photos. Will send in a message but use the delete after

recipient views photo feature you can do when you send one
