I notice people hosting parties in their homes, and I am in a position to do that, I was just wondering whether it is something I should do? But what do people expect? If I do it, what sort of numbers/types of people would be best to invite? etc.

Any thoughts welcome. Thanks.

Numbers depend on how big your house is. I went to a party held in a tiny 2 room flat and 60 people turned up! Not fun!

Menston near Ilkley

I had a party at mine on Saturday, chose who was invited selectively. 4 couples myself and another guy. It was a great success, keeping things in propotion to the space available is the key.

Would people go? I personally would be wary of going to a party hosted by someone with the one verification that you have purely on the basis of wondering whether people would turn up as you don;t appear to be known on the scene.

Make sure you invite people who are looking for single guys

Dont think just because its your home people will play with you, because they wont

Invite people you have spoken to before, i wouldnt just put a post on here and wait for people to reply, remember its your home and you dont want any tom dick and harry there

I used to have a single male friend who hosted parties but i use to do all the arrangments for him as people just seemed more trusting of a woman doing a party than a man, and tho i made sure everyone knew it wasnt my party and i was organising it on behalf of a friend we still used to get a more posative responce

That sounds like a social...they are great, but if you are worried bout fakes im not sure you are the person to organise one

Interesting feedback, I am not unknown on the scene but neither would I say I am the heart and soul, and known by thousands. I have a 2 bed apartment in Manchester, so it could never be anything massive, but i've had 10-15 people in before which is cosy.

Why not go to one then see if you fancy organising one?

If they turn up to a social they arent fakes!

As for rules...dont fuck over the bar More seriously it depends on the type. You can hire somewhere, that means ppl can be a bit more wild, tho a social is not a play party, or just get together in a local pub.

look in organised events to see what others are doing

"Numbers depend on how big your house is."

True, but also think about this...for every single or couple you invite, you have to have room for a car to park somewhere around where you live. How is your car parking capacity? What will your neighbours think about not being able to park their cars when they return home because your guests are blocking their access?

"Would people go?"

YES! And a lot prefer parties to clubs.

"Make sure you invite people who are looking for single guys"

Absolutely! Check out the profiles of people contacting you out of the blue. If you get "couples 4 couples" people saying that they want to come, be sure to ask them why they want to come to a party that contains singles. Nothing worse than getting someone turn up who hasn't understood what to expect, and kills your atmosphere for you.

If you have a hardcore circle of swinging friends, then start with these as your initial invitees. Get to know people at clubs (and there are enough to choose from in the Manchester area) so that you know who they are and what they are into, and that they are what you are looking for, and most importantly, that they know you.

Don't rely on people off swingers sites like this. Even if you post onto the Events page, you won't be guaranteed many new attendees. You will get people sending you messages sounding like they are interested in coming but in reality, yours will be one of a number that they are sounding out to shortlist and then decide on nearer the time.

Don't be surprised if half of the people who say that they are coming, don't actually turn up. That's par for the course. Basic maths, 4 invitations will produce 2 acceptances which will end up in one knock on the door.

Don't expect a full house first time. It takes a while to build things up.

Best of luck!

Some good advice thank you. On the car parking, i've got a large secure car park which never has less than 10 free parking spaces, so that would probably be the limit of numbers of cars.
