Question for the ladies

What do you call that bit of lace (or even plain white M&S cotton) that you pull up over your hips every day?

To me they are knickers or simply pants.

However, I've noticed on here that almost every bloke calls them panties, which just makes me cringe.

Over to you

Ladies you are backing up exactly what I thought. I'm sure that blokes think it's a turn on to call them panties but it can only be to them. It's enough to kill the moment for me.

swingers clubs

knickers, with sub categories as a previous poster said.

Panties is just too American and said by fantasists.

I'm not bothered by the word "panties" so I'll call them that in certain situations.

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

When I started working in the UK, I made the mistake of asking one of my first patients to take off their pants (as we say in the U.S.A)....she glared at me with an incredulous look and asked why that was needed to assess an ankle! Miscommunication cleared up and she politely explained that here its "trousers" and that pants were something....err more intimate

Fred tells me off for calling them pants, so knickers generally, though the more comfortable ones are definitely pants

Agree that panties just sounds odd.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Pants or knickers. Underwear if I'm feeling posh.

Totally this - panties is a little creepy. Knickers, thong (if that's what it is) but that's about it. Region / age makes a difference too, pants to me are trousers (anyone else remember Trev & Simon's 'swing your pants'?!?!)
