One of the reasons I always met socially first, you get a chance to see if hair greasy, nails clean, shoes shined etc. The only way to check for cheesy knob and minging gonads is by getting up close and personal!

I only encountered that once and had to tell the gentleman my mouth wasn't going there and told him why.

This is ok to check for any smellyness but not for checking for infections there are some very serious infections out there that dont have any symptoms the best thing to avoid an infection is to wear a condom.

I agree with Granny in that it really gets my back up when guys make jokes about women smelling of fish. It does tend to be immature men who are keen on calling womens parts by vulgar names and I find it disrespectful. I can't laugh at any jokes regarding women smelling of fish.

I too find it very hard to believe that a trained nurse would make inappropriate comments about other patients to a stranger who happened to walk into the clinic, especially a genito urinary specialist.

i've thought about this quite a bit - people who go dogging or cruising on their way home from work etc

i think it's vile to not have washed since say morning and then go out and want someone to have sex with you.

i would be mortified if someone got even a whiff of a personal smell off me.

before any meet (social or sexual) i wash and scrub (incl intimately) + rinse with antiseptic gobwash & always carry gum

i rarely brush my teeth immediately before a meet though (but would 2/3 hours before)as someone told me that the brushing can open your gums which makes it easier to pass on infections through kissing &/or oral

dunno how true it is but the slightest chance is enough to heed the warning.

yup - i'm a bit of a clean 'freak'

my other pet hate is when someone turns up clean but you can tell they live in a house with a deep fat fryer

since i was the person the nurse made those remark to i can assure you that she did indeed say that bv can often be detected by the nose as the patient walks into the room. i have had bv, it indeed has a noxious and distinctive smell.
