Noticed profiles on here ask for intelligence or like to consider themselves intelligent.they also ask for someone to be able to hold a conversation but a conversation about what?brexit, trump or the economy?or about stuff like towie or love island which in my opinion requires no intelligence to watch or talk about.so really, what is intelligence?

to be able to listen, advise, empathize and admit that you are not perfect, whether that means deep introspection or just an ability to laugh at oneself.

social intelligence i'm guessing, they are looking for that.

i'm looking for guys with all the intelligences, and i do have maths sums ready for those i wish to talk to and send those in a first message, along with asking them why they think we exist. and they better use long and elaborate wording to reply.

people that think on the fly..as opposed to someone that needs to carefully think out what they will say or type next, granted they have intelligence...but it does not make them any more socially as intelligent as someone who wouldnt get near mensa

but what if they are not familiar with using long and elaborate wording as they perhaps were not raised around those that use such words or didnt get an efucation that was as good as others.does this mean that they lack intelligence?

According to Wikipedia

"Generally described as the ability or inclination to perceive or deduce information, and to retain it as knowledge to be applied towards adaptive behaviors within an environment or context"

In Fabland it means that you only watch ubtitled foreign dramas/films on BBC4

Wit and ability to articulate oneself with proper use of English, not txt speak if yous no wat a mean. A good sense of humour is a sign of intelligence. You don't have to know everything about everything but just be able to express your own opinion about anything you hear. Be passionate about something. Simple really.

For me its about being articulate. The ability to listen actively. To engage in a conversation not just be part of it.

Never looked it up but that description resonates. Always thought (well from about 16) intelligence is 'receiving information, digesting and interpreting that information (quickly) and then logically relaying it in whatever form, written or spoken accurately'. Nowt to do with general knowledge but general knowledge can be greatly improved 'if' you decide to combine it with your intelligence. Met loads of people within no general knowledge and no common sense but give them a problem and just see how quickly they solve it and come up up with a solution, that's intelligence as I know it. (2 pence worth).

For me it is having good conversations about all kinds of topics. It's about conversing properly, not using text talk, being polite and respectful in conversation, listening and contributing.

I adore conversing with intelligent people so anyone who wants that please pm me.

I find you rather entrancing wyld...in the years we have chatted...I have hired a secret detective to track your whereabouts at all times...so I know your likes and interests and to also snap shots of you in the shower...just so I can smell the brand of showergel/soap you wear so I can buy a bottle to sniff...while thinking of U x

My definition of intelligence on Fab is the following (from basic to advanced in incremental fashion) ......

1. Able to string a coherent sentence together

2. + able to avoid every second word being text speech

3. + able to spell

4. + able to use proper grammar

5. + able to talk about something other than what's in the tabloids

6. + able to be analytical (doesn't matter about what - science, politics, anything)
