Couple just contacted me, added me as friend and asked to see my face photos. I duly sent them some face pix, they un-friend me, and stop conversation. As they instigated the communication in the first place, wouldn't it be more nice and pleasant to msg back and just say' thanks, not our type'. doesn't take long.

I've had this in the past, started a conversation with a couple sent a face pic and they've quiet rudely called me ugly, by all means I'm no Ryan Gosling or Brad Pitt when he was in Seven, but I'm no Quasimodo either, and they sent their pictures as well, and dear God I'd never have managed a stiffy!!!!

keep plugging away dude, some good ones out there

I used to ignore people I wasn't interested in. Now I take the time to reply. For my pleasure. Don't let little shit get you down.

I've had a "couple" message, I use the term couple loosely as the male half does all the talking, yet aren't verified, an have so far refused to show face pics, haven't stopped talking to me, yet avoid direct questions. I sense there's a deception in the midst, so till they show they are either verified or face pics as a couple they can do one. I'm not desperate to hang on to what isn't there

To be honest I would have never sent them a picture and wouldn't ha accepted their friends request, until I had spoken for at least a few days. It's quicker for them not to say anything. Them unfriending you shows what they thought

Don't mind sending photo at all. just thought they could have replied with a 'no thanks' instead of going radio silence, as they contacted me first. but hey, that's Fab life eh.

I've been called everything from breathtakingly beautiful to "not at all my type" (read: uglier than sin). Whatever--we are what we are, those who don't appreciate us can move on, the quicker the better.

Don't lose sleep over it--find someone who appreciates you for you.

You're victim of a problem caused by many hundreds of others before you.

It's all good to suggest someone at least says 'no thanks'. The problem with that is that for every 'no thanks' a woman/couple/man can send, there's a fair chance of getting grief back because of it.

Sometimes, it's much simpler to just take the possibility of grief out of the equation by not responding and blocking.

All that said, would you really want to get a message that basically says they don't fancy you enough to shag you?

Just think OP. You could have had a reply along the lines of 'never in a million years'.

(just getting that one off my chest)

Unfortunately, their are some prize arseholes, with a perceived sense of entitlement, and being "polite" isn't a quality they're aware of, or consider.

Block them and consider yourself lucky, another lesson learnt.

There are some lovely people on here but there are also some very ignorant ones. If they are rude in their response they were not the sort of people you would want to know anyway. You have to be very thick skinned, this site is definitely not for the sensitive, too many idiots who seem to get their jollies from upsetting people. Persevere and you will find the nice ones, and there are quite a few.

Remember, you can't be 'added' as a friend, they can only do friend request. It's up go you to accept it when you are confident in them.

I would say, as a rule of thumb, anybody who just sends a friend request straight of without any chat, you should be wary of.

True, I know that many people will take any answer as a chance to further the conversation. sadly tahts how it is. but you are right.

also very true, good advice x exercising self restrain (to not accept friends invite) is also good in these circumstances.
