I am new to this scene and trying to figure out how to engage with people. I visit the chat rooms from time to time and it kind of feels hard to see if anyone is actually having a conversation, actually trying to get to know someone.

The stream of responses seem like random comments that are disconnected.

It seems to go 'Guy Y' says "Hi Mrs X, great breats!!!" to which she replies "Thanks Y" and this kind of empty statement repeats over and over. They don;t seem to go beyond some random observation.

Is that how other people see it or am I just too dumb to see something else is going on?

Quite probable I am just too dumb (;-) So put me me right so I can get in the action (;-)

I hope this comment is not seen as anything other than me trying to fit in, and no one is offended by it (I don't do offensive; well not intentionally (;-))

you must be going in the wrong rooms at the wrong times, lol, they are hit and miss and sometimes a little clicky but ive had some good laughs in there talking about totally random shite x

whatever you do dont bother trying to have a conversation with anyone in the directing rooms late at night ... between all the tits cock and fanny action theres only room for heavy breathing and typing one handed .

Directing tends to have ppl who want to be directed,or direct,therefore the chat is about that.

General chat does not allow directing so there are more people there to chat.

I've seen you several times in the chat rooms and thought about saying how sexy you look. I have no idea how to get to know someone, even as a friend, given the style of communication.

It seems futile commenting but I do agree it makes sense if directing.

Maybe I am just discovering that is what happens in the Forums?

Your new and youve got the measure of the chat rooms then. I have always found that because I dont use cam Im at a disadvantage. Depending on what avatar I use I will get spoken to. If im showing tits and ass then someone may say hi. But the majority of the conversation does seem to be, hi good to see you, oh yeah hi how are you, great, hi Mrs big tits how are you, great Mr large cock, fit to burst, hey small clit when you gonna enlarge it for cam, you are cheeky, swinging gonads and so on and so forth... it does seem to be the level of the chat.

I am not a frequent attender though so maybe all the interesting stuff goes on when myself (and the OP by the looks of it) arent on.

I used to avoid all the chatrooms, as it seemed difficult to get word in edgewise, but that is just how things are, i now enjoy visiting them from time to time...even though i can't get a cam to work

Sometimes the chat flows too fast and I (scarlett) can't type fast enough to keep up lol so tend to stick to the forums and chat elsewhere where it's not so fast.

i dont click on cams much when i am in a room unless its someone i know on my friends list hot list or i speak to

i dont play on cam no more as men are pretty thick with the compliments they will say whatever when a woman is playing

We've actually gotten a little frustrated in the past as we love to have direction/suggestions/requests when we're on cam, so we tend to stick to the directing rooms, but find sometimes folk are too busy chatting about their dinner or whatever, & fill the chat up so we miss any messages from others.

I know there's PMs but they are SO annoying as they get covered as soon as another comes up & you have to stop what your doing to uncover it.

In my opinion directing rooms should be for that, directing.

General chat, should stay in the general/local rooms. I assumed that, that's what the system was due to the room names.

But nothings set in stone, & if that what some folk want to do in the directing rooms, so be it.

We'll still keep popping in from time to time & have fun, regardless if we get suggestions or not!

I struggle with the new chat and much prefer the old chatrooms for chatting and getting to know people.

It takes a while, but say hi when you go in. Gradually people recognise you. Join in when you can and it all gets easier I think.

Got to agree with those that have said the chatrooms are hard work.

It's so fast paced that I'm sure i've missed replies or hello's etc.

well that is what i prefer to think, rather than we are being ignored

I agree and wish I'd been in a conversation where people connect rather than making random observations. So they do happen; phew, glad to learn that (;-)

If people just want to be voyeurs, which is fine, then how can they ever move beyond just watching others have fun. Perhaps that is all they search for; we're all individuals kind of thing

For me, I'd like to learn about the people I'm watching to know if they are the sort of people I would enjoy writing to and getting to see how they see things. This is where I figure out if there could be chemistry which is key for me (;-)

I suspect this does happen and I just need to give it more time so I see it unfold.

I have more or less given up trying to join a conversation in a chatroom Despite being on here for over a year and a (married)fem I just cant get to know people..and it isnt for the want of trying..I can hold a very good conversation IMO.

The only way of generating conversation seems to be getting my boobs out..and even then all I get is the time honoured and highly unoriginal, 'very nice' or 'look at me' 'fancy phone?'.

I have even said things like 'hi all, bored married bi fem here..anyone fancy a chat?'...nothing!

...leading me to beleive that most of the non camming so called 'couples' on there are fakers

Regards 'General chat'..it is marginally better, and friendlier, however I think it should have a 'no private parts (including boobs) showing' rule, as it has come to my attention on a few occasions that a few certain women and occasional couples seem to use it as a platform for a 'show' knowing full well they wont have much competition and they will be the 'centre of attention' surely they should be in the directing rooms?

If the general chat room was restricted to just that, general chat, then surely it would make it easier to join, start, and have conversations with people (even though the regulars will still steam roller their conversation through ignoring all and sundry along the way)

Could I amend this to .. say 'hi everyone' or 'hi all' when you come in to General Chat.

If peeps just say 'hi', it's not clear whether they're already half-way through a conversation with someone, so regular chatters are less likely to break off their own conversations to welcome the newcomers. However, if newcomers says 'hi all/room', there are several of us who will be delighted to make them welcome.
