Today I see a veri the couple received from another person...is it wrong for me to feel a little peeved?

Yes a big kick in the balls and a feeling of rejection but this maybe something you will have to get used to being a single guy? never mind use the block button

In the world of fab it seems perfectly acceptable to do this to guys. They are most likely expecting you to feel grateful that they nearly met you.

Block, move on.

had this a few weeks ago - not bothered as they did cancel and give a reason - but the reason given contradicted who they met - not fallen out or got huffy- just wish they had said got a meet already planned closer to home - think they double booked in case one cancelled - who knows

I had it happen to me when we first joined and before our profile was verified. He went with a verified profile, which is fair enough. He asked for a meet once we'd been verified, I said, "no thank you!"

I would be very annoyed it I was treated like this. I always try my best to treat others as I would want to be treated and there is no excuse for being rude a simple no thanks we've changed our minds would be sufficient.

On the positive side looking at your profile- Wow. I'm sure there are plenty of others who would be more than happy to spend time with you. Good luck OK.

You dont make plans with someone you're not going to meet. If you're happy being disrespected like that then fine but dont make out as if thats something that should be normalised.

Jesus, some of u guys will put up with being treated like circus animals just for some sex.

I notice that a lot of these comments are coming from the women here.

I understand Fab does not have a gender ratio that favors the men, but it seems like we guys have absolutely no real desire to be respected on here. It might be a bad precedent.

"It's rude, plain and simple."

Have to agree.

We were invited to a meet, people who'd we'd wanted to meet for quite a while but already had a meet arranged, so declined and explained why. Gained much respect from them and did meet sometime later. It isn't that difficult really to keep to agreements but some folk are selfish with a 'me me' attitude. Shame.

Mentioned this elsewhere. I arranged a meet with new member. Day of meet a veri pops up on her profile from a meet that morning. Okay we all done more than one meet on some days. Part of the fun. That's cool, but looked at his profile, of his 2 veris, one was from the woman I was gonna meet- bb meet spunk everywhere, the second was another recent one from a travelling seed bank that takes multiple collections daily. All bare. With hundreds of veris.

Kinda tainted by association and ruined a pretty housewife for me lol. Downside of veris. And that one you thought was only a regular NSA thing, does not like seeing new veris on your profile. They a blessing and a curse

The decent thing would be to give at least a couple of days notice if they might have to cancel.

I've been stood up twice before and I was absolutely fuming, it takes time to get ready etc.

Was it for a social or a play meet OP? Not that it matters but it would worse if you'd had a social already.....

Yep swinging maybe meant to be fun but if your thin skinned it'll destroy you. Getting angry and reporting people for perceived transgressions makes me think your sick of this game. There's no cast iron contract, and i believe in sex people can say no at any time. Would you get so worked up if they got to your bedroom and changed their minds. With you, when is it too late & no longer acceptable to say no?

This happened to me once with a couple. They initiated contact with me. We texted and spoke ahead of time for weeks.

I did get a text 5 min before we were to meet saying the wife's mother died. The next day there was a new verification from the night before.

I assumed they blocked me because I can't see their profile. I just laughed about it and moved on.

You are absolutely within your rights to feel aggrieved...they no showed, Just the kind of "timewaster" you see endless complaints about. Why you should just have to suck it up when the white knights clip clop all over any couples or single females who complain about the exact same thing. Then to rub salt into the wound by evidence that you were second best...I'd be massively pissed off...no second chance for them, ever.

I would feel exactly the same O.P if they changed their minds they should of just told you! To not turn up is so rude....I would be so annoyed if this happened to me xx

We had something similar once - we had plans to meet a single guy. On the night of the meet he messaged us saying he couldn't make it because his grandfather died. Next day he had a verification from a good looking single woman talking about how their meet last night was so great.

Basically, something better came along and he ditched us. Do you have a right to feel annoyed? Of course. Although I will say that nothing much annoys me on here anymore.... I've learned to deal with the status quo, sadly.

Did you really need to reply in such a manner?

It's extremely rude not to let someone know if you can't make it to a meeting. Its extremely disrespectful to their poor old grandad to lie about him dying.

And as fat as I'm concerned, it's extremely important to only arrange to meet somewhere I would have been going anyway.Being stood up or let down is a pain but always have a plan B.

Yes.....and no. NSA sex means just that - you got bumped for a better deal. Annoying but what can you do? Nothing....it might be your turn another day so don't sweat it.

Not wrong at all. I've had that happen twice by two very well verified ladies. No reason give and waited about 30 mins with messages ignored. Then blocked me only to find out they each met someone else. I found out for one of them there was another guy she'd said she'd meet too. For some it seems it's a case of having a backup and c options if A doesn't show.

As someone said though you probably better not meeting that type even if you were the A option too as if that's what they're like in showing little respect for others... It probably be a one way meet - all for them.

There are plenty of respectful people to meet and it be more enjoyable.

It's not nice but people don't always consider other people feelings. Move on from them and go and have better fun with someone else.

Lack of respect is an inner quality of a person...irrespective of whatever they are doing. It's how they view themselves in relation to others around. Usually a very selfish quality and lack of understanding of what others do are who they are.

"Report them! That is intolerable to waste someone's time like that. Me, I don't care if you have to cancel the last minute, just let me know if we've agreed to meet. Of course you should feel peeved. They've disrespected you and wasted your time. Make them pay! I hope you have all the evidence that you planned a meet and they stopped responding after standing you up.

Report them? To who? Admin? And what exactly do admin do about no shows? What are they expected to do? Rap the naughty ones on the knuckles? Give them lines? Tell their parents? When i hear people say " report them" it makes me think of being in school.

We have all been stood up. All been treated badly. It happens. Its life.

There are some total wankers out there. That wont change. You just gotta suck it up. Or go join your local embroidery circle"

Admin delete profiles of people who get too many complaints of no shows. If you check the list of categories in the "report" section you'll see "arranged to meet and didn't show up".

It costs people money and time. You don't just suck that up if a member is doing that to people. Cancel your meet like an adult or have your account deleted.

Or the reports for "no shows" that people have done maliciously in revenge because something didn't go their way, admin would then just automatically delete their account after a fake/BS report like that, as there would be no way to really prove it either way, hardly seems a fair system

Me personally, I would only report if the no-show did all or most of the following;

Communicated right up until my arrival

Is seen online

Stopped responding to messages but is reading them

Deletes messages

Blocks you

Or, in the case of the OP, has verifications from meeting someone else.

If most of these are present it is splitting baits to think they aren't a timewaster. People with genuine excuses don't do any of this.

I for one would prefer them being online and corresponding with me before a meet id find it reassuring not sure why you'd see it as a bad thing?

There's no rule on fab against reading and ignoring messages or just deleting them if there was there would likely be no women left on the site

And as for getting a veri from someone else, well they clearly aren't always a time waster they just decided to waste tours on that particular occasion for whatever reason. There could be a good explainination for getting a different veri for example,

I once arranged a meet with a guy that would be travelling 5hours to meet me, but I had to cancel as I got a call to say the eldest twin was in hospital with an head wound after falling At school, I went through to the hospital and it was all resolved within a few hours (quicker than expected). Now this still meant there was no point in him now making the journey as it would take too long for the limited time we would have then had to meet, but I was free so met someone more local instead, I did explain that to him to save any hard feelings, but the point is, it was a valid explanation for why I cancelled him and met someone else instead, there's always a bigger picture to consider

We're not talking about cancellations. Everyone cancels! We're specifically taking about people who DON'T cancel and they don't tell you or explain anything. Surely you understand the difference between the two. No one is saying we can't cancel, change our minds, have emergencies etc. What I'm saying is that if you don't show up to a scheduled meet, don't say that you aren't coming, then that is called time-wasting and there are certain things that prove that you do not have a valid excuse for not getting in touch to cancel so the other person doesn't waste their time, money, efforts. Those things that prove you're a timewaster is if you suddenly stop responding to emails or you're deleting emails or you've blocked the person or you're seen online but just ignoring them..... This proves that you are NOT having an emergency, otherwise you would cancel and let the person know you had to cancel. It's common sense really.

Or go join your local embroidery circle

There could be genuine reason why someone's a no show ............ if admin does delete people for no shows how do they determine the genuine no show because they've had an emergency with one of their children or been called into work and the timewasters who are prolific no shows ???

Me personally, I would only report if the no-show did all or most of the following;

All on your list there aren't reportable offences and just a waste of admins time reporting, the only thing that can be reported is the actual no show, events leading up to it and after it are irrelevant

I never said those are the things I report. I said I'll report a no show of its accompanied by those things which prove they did not have a genuine excuse. If you let go of your combativeness and your grudge against me from a completely separate thread you'll see what I actually said. Read it again.

This is separate post so let's leave other ones out of it please

And those things still aren't reportable in relations to the no show the only message that is is the one where they've agreed to meet then haven't shown up.

And in the example I used what if I was that worried about my child that I never gave my meet a second a thought until after it was all over and knew she was ok so forgot to message the guy before he'd set off as he wasn't the priority, these things do happen and by the time I get chance to log on to message he sees I'm online assumes I was a no good time waster and blocks me before I have chance to message to explain that can also happen too

The point I'm making is there's always a bigger picture to consider too many people jump to conclusion that suit them in those situations

Totally sympathise OP. If we were stood up, we'd be spitting fire. Thankfully never happened. Short notice cancellations are bad enough. But it's not something we would ever do, so can't relate to it when others do it. With regards to the veri - well that just adds a little more fuel to the fire.

"But they've met someone else"
Yes, at the time they arranged to meet you.
"yea it's a dick move not to tell you"
YES! It certainly is!
"but they clearly aren't total time wasters as they do meet"
You're always a total timewaster of whoever's time you're wasting. They meet other people at the time they're scheduled to meet you. They are totally wasting your time. That's the very definition of a timewaster. It really doesn't matter who's time they're NOT wasting.
"they've just wasted your time on that occasion"
DITTO! Applause!
"I don't know how people are

daft enough to fall for the BS personally"

Victims of timewasters are not daft. We don't blame or shame victims. That's not fair. You don't fall for being stood up like you don't fall for being assaulted or robbed. The BS is the act of not showing up, there's no thought-crime police service yet. It could happen to anyone, even/especially those who think their fortune is due to their superior intelligence
"I've never have an issue"

In glad for you, and I hope it never happens to you.

My GAAD! What aren't you getting about a person being online, reading or deleting your emails without responding, blocking you, getting verifications from someone else when they were supposed to meet you? I'm done! You win!

Today I see a veri the couple received from another person...is it wrong for me to feel a little peeved?"

Sounds like they got a better offer and couldn't be arsed letting you down. It happens a lot, I suspect.

My ex used to play an interesting game on here. Her and a friend (separate profiles) would end up chatting to the same guy. If one arranged a meet, they'd tell the other, who would then offer to meet at the same time. If he binned the first one off for the other, they'd both block him and he'd get neither.

The situation highlights the fact that having verifications (because you sometimes meet) doesn't mean you're not a time waster. I had quite a protracted argument with a guy once, him insisting he wasn't a time waster, when he'd let me down for no good reason (wasting my time) twice.

Unless they cancel with a good couple of hours notice, they don't get a second chance these days.

Forgot to mention... his argument was "I'm not a time waster. I have verifications that prove I'm not." Mine was "You've wasted my time twice now. Yes, you literally are someone who wastes people's time."

I would be well pissed off if this happened to me.

If they haven't already blocked you (because that's the kind of shite move people like that do) I'd message them and ask them where they were.

If you're already blocked, counter block & report as a no show.

Totally agree. There's a man in our past who we regard as a timewaster and a dreamer. But we still met him 5 times. Just because someone wastes your time doesn't mean you don't meet ever.

They won't delete on one persons say so I'd imagine if they were to get a lot of complaints about the same person they would look into it, it's on their interest to keep the site as fake free as possible.

And as an FYI....I've never been stood up / badly treated on here and think it's totally unacceptable.

Yes.....and no. NSA sex means just that - you got bumped for a better deal. Annoying but what can you do? Nothing....it might be your turn another day so don't sweat it.

NSA doesn't mean a complete lack of respect, manners and decency."

This is so true

When I read responses in threads like this that says something like "People have a right to change their mind and not tell you. They can block you and offer no reason if they want, it's their choice. They don't have to turn up just because they said they would. You should be more careful choosing who you meet. Suck it up and move on."

I block the writer of such messages because they epitomise and support the attitude of the gutless rude timewasting keyboard wankers. That is just my choice of course, but it helps me in some way avoid some inconsiderate timewasters.

For us its just plain rudeness not to cancel and then to add insult to injury they arrange another meet.

For us its an instant block and we do report for timewasting.

The expression used on these forums 'people have the right to change their mind' doesn't sit comfortably with me either, and I hope anybody who is that fickle and that indecisive about what they want stays well away from us. We've had doubts before after arranging meets, but we see it through for at least a quick social, because we won't mess people about. If we had a serious emergency we would send a quick text to explain and apologise, and at the very least would be sending our apologies as soon as possibly with assurances that we'll reschedule and make it up to them. It's easy to tell the difference between real excuses and bullshit excuses. If it's genuine then people will behave more respectfully.

It's common decency to notify someone if your not able to meet up due to an emergency or whatever the reason. There is no excuse for being rude by not having the decency or courtesy to explain or give notice of a cancellation either before or in certain circumstances (emergencies)even after. The OP has stated a particular experience that I have also had to endure but it didn't put me off meeting plenty of others... Sadly, this site is now notorius for the wrong reasons and spoiling it for those of us that are genuine and just want to get on with the swinging lifestyle. Just my tuppence worth folks.

The right to change your mind expression doesn't sit well with us either, it's a cop out, it's used frequently by couples & single females when they get a better offer, if single men do it they are chastised for there actions and rightly so, but so should everyone.

Changing your mind, explaining and contacting your meet well in advance is fair enough, but you are still a timewaster x

That's very disrespectful in my opinion. If they didn't want to meet then just say. We're all ment to be adults but because people are hiding behind a device they think they don't have to. They wouldn't act like that face to face. It's never happened to me but if it did I wouldn't block them. I'd just not do anything and let them see all the fun I'm having
