After receiving a wink i sent a message to the couple in question. Got a reply back saying would love to meet me so i then messaged again to arrange then all of a sudden blocked. Some people take the piss. And its us single guys who are meant to be timewasters

Maybe, one of them replied before checking with the other one.

Maybe, they thought you were being a bit pushy. Not everyone wants to arrange a date after one message.

Who knows! People change their minds for all kinds of reasons.

They didn't really waste much of your time, only a few minutes.

Look on the bright side, it could have been worse. You could have been stood up/ left hanging on the actual meet.
