So... in August Phoenix and I will be getting married...

It's not going to be a church service, but we have to write our own vows...

I've never been to a wedding thats not church based before... let alone a swingers wedding...

What on earth do you put in your vows???

Lol...

Be honest in your vows. How you feel about her and how you will always be there for her in good and bad times. Fruitful and happy life together... Google suggestions on writing own marriage vows

To support and to nurture, in all her endeavours.

To respect and admire her choices she makes.

have a look at some of the pagan vows you can get online. They are lovely and often more suited to a less conventional lifestyle and are more about care for each other and nurturing. You can adapt them to your own needs.

We got married abroad and the pastor was very laid back.

She said thatvour vows should be whatever we want to put on paper.

I wrote a poem and had everyone in floods of tears when I read it out, even with a huge lump in my throat.

It worked though as 21 years last month

You might consider dropping the "Foresaking all others" bit though

I've been to a couple humanist ceremonies, they were much nicer than the church ones I've seen.

Don't forget the bit about obeying each other...

I think the obeying part of the traditional vows is slowly being left out.
