Hello my lovelies!

Right - I'm around 12lb's heavier than I'd like to be - and 5lb's heavier than I need to be to fit into my holiday clothes without busting the zips (not a good look!)

Need to lose 5lb's in 2 weeks (for Butlins with the kids 2 weeks tomoz) ..... and a further few pounds by August 11th for a holiday in Turkey!

Firstly - anyone else fancy joining me on a quick pre-holiday diet and exercise surge?

Secondly - hints and tips from all you gym bunnies gratefully received!

My main problem areas are tummy and inner thighs - like most women I assume? Xx

Tummy is the hardest area to lose weight in such a short space of time.... However, it sounds like your issue has no magic solution but a rather straight froward one...

Loads of water up till then (cut out the alcohol) plenty of hitt training and some cardio... Eat the right food and limit your carbs after 4pm ... You should lose an inch or so (weight is irrelevant)

My pov anyway I'm sure others will have their own...

It's not a terribly scientific thought process; but less calories + more exercise generally does it in my experience.

All of the above and if you're a great lover of running machines etc for cardio then Boxercise

Is great fun workout that'll target thighs, core etc plus it has stress busting benefits.

I am a Boxercise coach but there's a few miles between us there should be some in your area, if not and I have only ever done this once, you can exercise over cam/Skype ... see it does have other uses

That's a big ask in the time you have,is it realistically going to happen?! Maybe just buy clothes you can fit in,unless you're incredibly determined.

Yeah and I'm usually ok with weight loss etc. it's just the relatively short time scale so want to concentrate on tummy and thighs!

Try an exercise bike or a rowing machine ...

I walk everywhere and that obviously works for me, plus I am still on the healthy eating regime that I started in the new year...

Can't do running due to sexy arthritic knee that blows up like a balloon when running! Some exercise classes I can do with a support bandage though!

4-5 lbs in 2 weeks isn't unrealistic, cut your daily calorie intake to about 1200, it's very do-able in the short term. Cutting out bread will help flatten tummy.

Btw, as a straight female (!), I think your figure is gorgeous.

Big ask but it is possible as ive done it. Cut down on your carbs slightly and drink plenty of water. Sit ups really using your core and abs to pull you up and hold you up are good best of luck x

Cut back on Sugar and carbs, also try Running or Cycling or swimming every day or just fast walking. Join a few circuit classes and try your local leisure centre that has sauna/ steam facilities

Ive lost 2 to 3lb most weeks and my average daily meals are as such

Breakfast.. either full english. With grilled bacon ...5% fat sausauges. Poached eggs. Mushrooms. Tomatoes and beans.

Or 40g granola and fresh fruit with fat free yogurt.

Lunch is normally salmon or chicken with lots of salad..and 20g lf cheese and an apple.

Tea something like chilli made with 5% mince. Lots of veg.. and either normal rice or cauliflower rice.

And a treat such as a freddo melted over some grapes..

And maybe some strawberries late on.

And at some point a snack of maybe some toast. Or rivitas with ham or something

Ive consistently lost 2 to 3lb eating like this.

Also have 100ml of milk for my tea in the day. But mostly drink water or green tea.

First week eating like this I lost 7 and a half lb x

So can I be the really boring one to remind you that any sort of crash diet leaves you heavier in the long run, sorry!

There's a million ways to lose a few pounds in 2 weeks, but depends if you want to put those back on and more after.

I'm such a grinch I know!

Cut out carbs, sugar, processed foods and fruit/veg with a high GI.

Lots of water and green/herbal tea, porridge oats with fruit and natural yoghurt for breakfast, fresh veg and good proteins for lunch and dinner.

Your sugar cravings will disappear, you won't feel hungry and it will encourage your body to burn fat while maintaining muscle.

Just where I need to be.

Unfortunately we can't target specific areas to lose weight from. Drink lots of water, cut out sugar and reduce carbs. Various types of planks and crunches for tummy. For me exchanging foods for healthier versions are better than going on a diet.

I'd recommend 20 minute daily HIIT sessions - don't take too much time out of your day and are really effective for weight loss (try including full-body movement exercises like burpees). Do some active stretching when you are watching TV etc. Stretching is shown to increase metabolism and muscle activation. Be generally more active in walking rather than driving; take the stairs not the lift etc.

Nutrition wise I'd say cut down on starchy carbohydrates and sugars, of course limit/eliminate any alcohol/fizzy drinks/chocolate/sweets etc. Drink plenty of water to remain hydrated and feeling fuller (most people's brains think they are hungry when in fact they are more likely dehydrated).

Good luck

Download my fitness pal, i realky can't rate that app enough. Log everything that passes your lips, even an average 3.4 ml ejaculation of semen can be 1-5 calories!

My fitness pal gives me 1,200 calories a day and I haven't been hitting that ive been under and in 9 days I've lost 9lb!

It's easy to keep track of your food when you log everything throughout the day, I even had a double chocolate magnum in the evening cos I still had 450 calories left and I was still under the 1,200.

I am being super strict though.

Drinking only water and mint green tea, having tuna and salad cream twice a week on dry brown toast. 3 egg whites 1 whole egg with skimmed milk scrambled on dry brown toast.

Turkey steaks cooked on the George foreman with mange tout and carrots and green beans with a table spoon of gluten and wheat free gravy.

I love the soupa soups in Asda the chicken and super grain soups in a yellow cardboard box thing, they're 300 odd calories but 17g of protein and sugar is from the vegetables so not too bad and it's filling.

I haven't been doing exercise yet cos I'm going to carry on with my strict eating for another two weeks before I do any training.

I find when I'm fat and train I get bigger cos I'm building muscle underneath my layer of fat and it just bulks out my stomach and especially my legs. Need to shred a lot more and then will start!

But you can do body weight exercises at home, lunges, squats, planks, tricep dips off the sofa. YouTube has loads of at home body weight routines to do.

Cut down on carbs. Have two or three days each week where you eat less that 600 calories. Exercise for half an hour each day, ideally with weights to get those big muscles in the back and the glutes working harder to up your metabolic rate

Thanks - you're very kind! I don't hate my body or anything - but a couple of new dresses I got make my tum look really big - so I just want to lose a little and tone!

Going to cut out bread and try (smaller portions of) wholewheat rice and pasta - plus try to get at least 30mins a day exercise - even if it's just a walk to the shops!

I'm also on a healthy eating regime as of yesterday, hoping to shift the little tum I've picked up in the last year :/

I'm doing a low carb route, no bread, pasta, root veg or anything similar, minimal alcohol (and dry white wine or vodka when I do), enough protein through meat, dairy and egg, some salad.

I think I'll definitely need some exercise too so going to start running from tomorrow!

Good luck OP, let us know how you get on
