FabSwingers.com forum: no response to messages

Despite writing several different messages to couples and females in my area of decent length (say 4/5 paragraphs), funny and witty. I then click on the sent items to find that they have "been read".

Is it too much to ask these females and couples to send a simple "thanks, but no thanks" response so at least us guys know where we are up to?

4/5 paragraphs is overkill man lol dont over-sell urself.

like long ass profiles i quit reading after a couple chunks of text. keep it short, sweet and to the point

Ok you are new to the forums so you won't have seen this subject done to death.

Simple answer is, some people don't answer mails, some people do...you can either accept that and think shit happens or let it get to you enough for you to rant...I know what we would do

A lot of people who receive the messages might not like the war and peace approach. Others prefer to contact the guys when they want them and some just plain don't like what they read or see on profiles and think why reply.

As a single fem I can recieve up to 100 messages a day and even though I try and send a reply to each it can take all my free time to do this and still have no luck finding someone i actually want to meet. This is life hun we just need to accept it and keep trying.

I agree, if you send me a long message, to me its obvious you have copied and pasted your profile into a message and I won't read it. As to your profile, it's fine, just needs rewording a bit nothing more

the girls can can 100+ a day which if you work leaves precious little "free time" - get into chatrooms and get networking.

also a lot of guy are timewasters so people can be wary - unfortunely the brush is tarred as they say.

keep trying and be yourself - dont sound desperate

Sorry bud, but yes it IS too much to ask.. nobody has to respond to you if they don't want to. If they've read your message and not replied, it's probably safe to assume they're not interested, so why stress about the fact that they haven't told you so in so many words?

Treat it as a 'fail', and move on.. and you never know, there might be the odd one (esp with couples) where there's a bit of a gap between 'read' and 'reply' simply because they both have to read it and assess it - so you might get an unexpected bonus

Keep positive - it's meant to be fun!

Are the people you send messages to well validated and real?

tbh, id rather say on your profile what you are into rather than what your not.

Are the people your messaging wanting people like you to message them? (do you fit their required spec, in other words) if not - then expect no reply.

If they are, then there at least likely to reply, either way.

unless people are paying, they cant see bigger pics.. can just about see what u look like in the one small pic.

Its a fact people look at pictures before reading the profile.. if they cant see much.. unlikely to read the profile.

Sadly not all guys get the "Thanks, but no thanks". You reply with "i'm not interested" & you get nasty messages back from them.

It's less agro to ignore some messages, particularly ones that are clear that they haven't even taken the 1 minute it takes to read our profile.

I think 4 - 5 paragraphs is far too long for an introductory message

Keep them short sharp and sweet with something that indicates that you have read the profile of the person you're mailing

Remember that not everyone will respond but at least keeping them shorter is less of a waste of your time

Had something like this happen to us a while ago. Got a message, opened it and started reading it. Then there's a knock at the door, an elderly neighbour needing help changing a light bulb, one thing leads to another and it's about 40 minutes later by the time I'm back in front of the PC only to find several increasingly pissed off sounding messages from the same guy moaning because I didn't have the decency to reply to him straight away. And he'd blocked us as well!

Oh well.

I know to some it seams rude but they are not obliged to reply to mesg. like others said if a fem got 100+ mesg she wouldn't have time or the patients to male back.

Lol. Fems don't get 100 messages a day from different peeps or the population in their area would soon run out. Of course ongoing conversations do generate more. As do newly set up profiles and if you are away and change your area. I think people exagerate to excuse themselves from not bothering as it can indeed take time to get through them. That being said they are of course under no obligation to reply. There are some who do but mostly if they feel someone is within the perimeters they have stated their interest in. I personally dislike long cut and paste messages and would rather have a shorter more personal one relating to us and our profile. Also they may feel that replying to said message with a few words inappropriate and so find easier to put off or ignore. Bored with reading my long post yet...hehe point made?

Most people who join Fab never get a single meet - not one - not ever.

So contrary to what you think, you are clearly getting a much much much better than average response to the messages that you are sending.

The problem isn't that you - or other people - might be doing something wrong, it's that in your head you have set your expectations for this site WAY too high.
