3 years ago and a few years before POF was a good dating site and was also generally a successful place to find people. Now I went on to see what it was like now and it is a disaster. No idea what happened. I don't suppose anyone knows why it became plenty of freaks?

I doubt it will make any difference. These are 2 different types of sites, I'm on POF as I was told it's called plenty of fucks, but nothing. With a view of a relationship I only met 1 person (who wasn't exactly truthful with her 4yr old pics) I messaged another who went into stalker mode within a week and all the pretty ones don't respond.

I'm guessing the ratio of men to women was more inverted the other way as far more women seek relationships than men.

So the men who were having no luck on here and other sex sites due to either the numbers game or them being cheb ends flocked to POF and other dating sites to spin the odds in their favour, kind of like women who use Fab to look for relationships to try and beat the numbers game.

Ergo POF becomes more like a traditional sex site.

i've noticed a change in how and what people approach you for online since i first started.

even on other fuck sites guys were keen to chat or be friends even if not wanting to meet you. hardly anyone tried the faf method on others sites.

none of them are dead though, or don't seem to be. plus with the weather being nice i'm guessing people are going outside more and this means less people online.

It's just like FAB and real life, plenty of idiots and plenty of good people.

I have had dates off both and no complaints from either site about people I have me. Personally I think FAB has gone worse then POF.

Back when I was doing the online dating thing, I preferred OK Stupid to POF. It's easier to out the weirdos when they've answered hundreds of questions about themselves. On POF everyone has the same profile.

Despite that, I did meet some normal and nice people though. A couple of them I regret things didn't work out After being on there for a while, though, you realise it's always the same people.

Tinder deffo. Cut to the chase, short profile, like or not.

PoF used to be people not prepared to pay. Match and other paid for services remains those looking for serious.

Tinder replaced PoF and all attractive people went there, but if you're not pretty enough for Tinder (1st rule of Tinder be attractive. 2nd rule of Tinder don't be unnactractive) you probably remain on PoF.

I met a lovely lady on POF in January 2012...We are friends. Foremost, we do engage in passion now and then. I do treat her well, I pay for everything. No not sex. I actually enjoy watching her with young fit men. We go to clubs as a couple.

I met a girl on POF who was lovely, real girlfriend material. Made me wonder why on earth she was on there...POF definitely seemed to attract those who were really invested in it and thus often became a hotspot for those who were unable to meet people in the non virtual world. Tinder still seems to be a far more casual place with far more level headed people...but, in many ways they have also become a victim of their own successes.

Just like Fab...the sheer amount of users means the increased number of flakes/timewasters/dreamers/cheaters etc.

You could get sex every day if you wanted. If was looking for more than that....mostly you can get as after all it was a dating site.

I've always found it funny. The amount of single women on here, who used to be or still are on pof.

Actually this poses a question of other web sites. Like if you take a profiles on here and check them against local escorts or hookers. You will find are several escorts in your area also on here...as if they dont get enough sex for their job

Take south west for instance. I notice 3 females...escorts. ones got 12 veris showing on here yet. Yet had 140 cocks that have left feedback on a escort site.

So back to pof.

I find mostly in that vanilla world...once in a blue moon you meet a kinkster... or someone who's tried the scene and wants to know more...its not easy, but have had a few dates from pof...that have become life or regual sex.

However recently I've renamed the site...

Plenty of freaks

Since it was sold and matchmaker dot com own it...its gone down the pan. Its full of fakes. Full of freaks.

For first time in long time I get messages from women, that I can't respond to unless I pay a load of money. Yeah right then. What women in her right mind would want someone to pay to contact them..it isn't even a fun platform to chat on. On pof I find women instantly want to swap numbers or use an app. Generally get given a number within few messages. Guess perhaps one gets to sell oneself more on plenty of freaks then here. Also if you clearly are part of the small amount of single blokes...your a winner.

I actually have on pof that I like kinky fun and sex, perhaps that's why seem to attract like minded thinkers.

I don't use it any more... simply because its not the site it was..people say that bout Fab I hear these days, both on and off the forum...but isn't it the case with all web sites of this nature. Its great at start... when real people from scene..before the wrong people start joining and the masses find out and well I think it all turns to profits before the benefit of site members.

Its owned by matchmaker dot com now...so naturally they going to make it crap...it used to be the biggest and most successful dating web site for stats etc on net. Sadly its had its day, what you say I've heard before from other Fab and pof women.

Ha I actually met a woman on here recently. She says she's 45 on here. I had already checked her out on pof haha she's actually 50...and on pof you see a 50 year old woman ha yet on here and in her veris...well I think folk must think she's 45...I notice it a lot with age...but with lots of other stuff.

People just use it for a sex site. Lie on their profiles they're looking to date in order to lead to a real relationship. Lies really. It's so wrong to lie and deceive someone into sex. So tired of countless useless dates that I came off it.

Decided had enough of trying and making an effort in getting to know someone for a relationship, that I decided to seek a friend with benefits instead. Came here because least everyone is on the same page and mostly upfront about it. I know what to expect and I'm in control.

I did meet my ex on a different dating site to POF and we were together for 6 years so they can work, just depends on which one you use. These days it just feels soul destroying. Plus my tolerance to bullshit is a lot lower these days.

I think today's dating sites are based on yesterday's Web mindset. You remember the one. When you used to look at something that had a lot of likes and think "my a lot of people like this", when a woman would write something and you'd think "I wonder what this woman has written", when someone would recommend something and you'd think "how nice of them to offer me an unbiased recommendation", when you'd get a message from a stranger and think "I wonder what interesting friendly thing this person is going to say to me", when you'd see something is highly rated and think "that must be good", and when you'd see someone had a lot of friends and you'd think "they must be popular".

Now you don't even know if you're talking to a human or a bot. You can't tell if people are being honest or getting paid to promote a product or site. Now nothing is real, not even like counts, ratings, or friends. They're all just fake or manipulated. On top of this, that naive friendliness of the web of yesteryear has long been replaced by people who don't know if you're a person or a bot sending you blunt unfriendly demands, abuse, or spam.

You just can't conduct dating on anything so riddled from head to toe with scepticism. Even Fab is borderline useful to swingers and may be slowly passing its sell by date too. When you lose faith in something you stop respecting it and you start abusing it. That's why Fab should take the problem of "timewasters" seriously

I will say if you just want to get laid, live in a city and actually look up what to do. Then to tinder is really very good. But you need all 3 of the relevant things otherwise don't waste your time.

that's part of the problem as well yeah. mark (markus?) does ban anyone from using that site for sex, but what that really means is if you're looking for sex on POF you have to be covert about it and can't say, else you get banned.

of course men who like dating and need a social sites like that will appeal to them, and some men are outright liars to get sex, but hiding the fact also doesn't help.

you can tell anyway now on dating sites who is just after a fuck, not all give it away but many do, loads of little hints like pics of them in bed, topless. or just they have made no effort to say what type of dating they're looking for.

Our definition of a "time waster" would be someone who, for whatever reason, isn't currently interested in meeting people but doesn't communicate that clearly so you end up chatting to them but nothing comes from it. This may be because they're fake, because they haven't told their partner yet, they haven't plucked up the courage to swing yet, or because they're having a break. It's not usually simply because they don't like the look of you as most people are pretty straightforward with telling you if they're not interested in you.

The more people expend energy chatting to people who aren't serious about meeting, the less patient they become with new connections, until they start posting negative status updates or sending one liners as they've adopted the view that everyone is a "time waster". This is a classic example of what happens to people when they lose faith in the product they're using and start to be either abusive or cynical with it. At the moment this phenomenon only effects a small percentage of users. But if the site grows lots more fake users and fails to develop tools that allow people to see who's worth talking to and who isn't (who's actively interested in meeting at the moment and who's just looking or having a break) then more and more people will grow cynical of Fab and it will begin to fail on a massive scale. That's what I was hinting at

i think coz i have a lot of tattoos i come across as shallow and so attract that type of guy or ones who just wanna try out a tattooed woman. i don't even bother with many guys online now coz of it.
