I'd like a dedicated photography forum..for us artistic geeks or tech geeks.

a main focus is in photography from portraits to pornographic (as I dont think we have to discuss too much about generic things like macro photography or landscape etc)(well unless they involve having people in them lol).

I mean...we have a politics section ffs

anywy...I'm hoping to get an auto lens...I hate passing a camera over to someone who cant manually focus, I like to be IN a picture sometime ff.

currently I'm using a fuji ex2...and manually doing everything with the lenses i have. I've been getting good reviews(non fab)

I did ay I think more thi should be about photography in the 'scene'...but the direct photo feature is helping bit

Have to admit I'd quite like a photography section too.. but then who categorises what makes good erotic photography? To some folk it's well placed lights and poses.. to others it's a hard cock held next to a Sky remote

thanks all..

well I like watching youtube recommendations...from..

the angry photographer(best lens advice and he made me go fuji)

the camera store guys(I'm straight but fancy the host chris nichols)

snapchick( shes fucking lovely)

tony and Chelsea)

ken rockwell does good reviews...thoughh he is considered outdated..

jared polin

photography wise it is all about what you need the camera for...

I bought a really cheap 1.7 35mm lens for £60, from meike(fuji mount)..its cheap and sharp and Ive barely used it...

also I recommend people use a flash that bounces off a ceiling or get the camera off the camera using wireless remote etc...

from what I see is nikon always wins on dynamic range..

what gets my goat is fabs really shit photo display...my pics always look better elsewhere...my pics never look as displayed on fab...others seem to do it better...i dunno if I'm just doing something wrong!

fujoi apparently do the best jpegs(just out of the camera)

their latest small camera is the x100f...its just a small camera and a fixed lens...but quite different in other ways.

the fuji xt2, or little brother xt20 have great reviews(only thing about fujis is lack of adobe support)..as I said it depends on your editing process needs.

Those are going to be way OTT...unless you want to spend £800-£1200 on a new camera? What's your budget?

Also, both lightroom and PS now support Fuji raw files.

Love photography

Just thought I'd mention my favourite YouTube channel - it's called the Art of Photography.

There is stuff on equipment etc on there (and I think that side of it is growing), but it's more focused on highlighting the work of great photographers, improving skills etc.

I've learnt about amazing photographers I'd never heard of through that site - Ernst Haas, Saul Leiter and Michael Kenna to name a few.

Also love the talks on B&H's channel (it's a big store in NYC).

I think if there was a dedicated photo forum - then it would be a first point of call for anyone either looking for some advice or looking to have some done.

It wouldn't just have to be about shooting people, it could include conversations about landscapes and wildlife

Shoot into the light at the subject, that’ll create a silhouette, trial and error to get the correct exposure

Last year there were still spaces left just before the event. It was sponsored by Fujifil and not quite as good because you didn’t have the Nikon school to go back to, just a small bar area in a hotel. Still, the event itself was great

Still trying talk myself into a new 70-200 2.8 or go F4 and get a cheap but decent fast prime.

Anyway more a comment so I remember to check back and read the thread tomorrow when I am waiting about.

I love the fuji's jpegs are amazing ..raw wise.. I think they arent adobe supported well enough..and I'd say...anyone who mostly thinks unedited jpegs are fine if claiming 'professional'..really is a great photographer or just deluded lol

*all being said..smartphones and editing have all caught up with professionals...but I suppose nobody really cares when a pic doesn't need blown up to super massive poster size..

iphone etc can look amazing..but for now..nothing like that will ever be a professional image, in my opinion.

The odds are very split.

Most canon film af bodies are EF mount lenses, but about 70% (made up number off the top of my head) digital bodies from canon are EF-S fit.

If you got one of the EF mount Digital Cameras. Even an older one like an Canon EOS 5D which is still a rock solid camera, then the odds are pretty good they would fit.

If you look at the existing lenses it should say what fit they are
