Sitting here nursing a nasty bout of summer flu it occurred to me what reasons people have received for the cancellation of a meet. I have received a few doozies in my time here, the best being "my cat died last night". Would be interesting to know what others have received.

I've had them all: flat tyre (twice!), slept in, met someone else, phone broke, got lost, friend ill, child ill, babysitter cancelled, weather too nasty, but at least they let me know. The one's who don't even bother to turn up are the wankers.

Mine tend to be. 'Wife has the car' 'wife not going out, or 'wife back home early so cant get out'.or 'wife needs me to do jobs for her (all day).i call these men wusses who obviously darent venture out when their wives are around. One guy told me its like being interogated by police if he wants to go out. I say if it that bad LEAVE !

I very often have to cancel a meet if my mum is ill as I look after her. But I do state to guys that I chat to with intent to meet my situation and most of them totally get that. I've only ever been called a time waster once.

Only once has this happened to me but it was a good one. He had been stopped by the police for no reason and they impounded his car. ..for no reason

I do think that some people themselves are to blame for being let down. . Let me explain.

I've seen examples of a girl that has gone for what look like to me, obviously fake profile pictures.

It seems the women are not immune to just going for the guy with the biggest 6 pack or biggest cock. . Be warned ladies the fakers are on to you and if all you go for is complete model types you are bound to be messed about.

Not poking fun or blaming women at all, just trying to put a little bit of sensibility into the conversation.

I've had a few no shows and no excuses, but best of them all was after messaging Friday, Saturday and Sunday on whatsapp and on fab to confirm our Monday morning 10 am meet. She messaged at 9.15 to say sorry I'm on a school run and only just got the message. My reply was are your kids boarding in China to which I got a reply... 'uh?' I proceeded to try and explain but it was all lost...so was the meet as obviously a few pennies were missing somewhere. Stunning looking lady but a bit ditsy.

I had a no show who arranged a last minute meet after we had spoken a few times and not been able to meet due to time commitments on my part. Finally arranged a last minute social, drove over to near his work location for a coffee (all arranged within 30 mins of the meet time), he sent me a message checking I had got there, then sent one saying he couldn't get out of work now so wasn't going to show.

When I asked him why he had bothered to check if I had arrived first before telling me he replied that I wasn't verified anyway!!

On pointing my veri summary out to him he then tried to get me to turn around and go back. Uh, no chance.

My gut feeling was he thought I wasn't going to show, no idea why because that is not my style and my veri's should have shown that.

Stunning looking girl as I did knock on the door .I'd also shopped and got her some drinks .....

For us the problem is the disruption it causes

We have very little free time and we have very limited child care options

So a chance for a meet is once every few months for us.

So a let down doesnt just ruin the opportunity its usually done so late we cant arrange a normal night out with friends as they have children so it ruins our normal social opportunities too

On behalf of us, I planned a meet with another couple but didn't realise she was going to do overtime. So I had to message to reschedule. A week later we met and we had a great time. So from experience, fuck ups can happen.

So we've put that in our profile.

We've had some bizarre excuses in the past with no offer of rescheduling.

We've even had friends go quiet, they've read the message but nothing. Think we'll try new deodorant

When I had a partner we met couples. Now I'm single I don't meet married guys whose wives do not know they are on here, as to me that isn't swinging, it's cheating. We have a couples profile on here and have only ever cancelled once at the last minute. Looking at some of these excuses mine sounds so fake but was actually the truth.

I was giving the hedge a trim, twisted and my back cracked. Cue huge pain, a trip to a&he followed by three years of treatment and surgery. Felt almost as bad for cancelling the meet as I did about the back.

(It's all ok now though!)
